Chiba Prefectural Police this week sent papers to prosecutors on a 58-year-old man who committed suicide after beating to death his 60-year-old brother-in-law last year in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture.
According to prosecutors, Tomoaki Midorikawa, a company employee, was fatally beaten about the head by Takayuki Furukawa, 58, last July, Sankei Shimbun reported. Although Furukawa committed suicide after the incident, Matsudo police decided to send papers on the case to prosecutors on Monday.
Furukawa was also charged with the attempted murder of his 65-year-old sister who was married to Midorikawa at the time. The incidents occurred on the evening of July 23, when the married couple visited Furukawa’s home.
Police said their investigation showed there had been trouble brewing between the married couple and Furukawa.
