Parts of cat's body found at Kobe apartment building

The severed limbs and tail of a cat have been found on the grounds of an apartment building in Kobe, police said.

According to police, the grisly discovery was made at around 12:15 p.m. Friday on a ground floor pathway leading into the building in Hyogo Ward, Sankei Shimbun reported. Police searched the area but could not find the head or body of the cat.

There was no blood, indicating the cat was killed elsewhere and the body parts brought to the apartment building, probably in a bag, police said, adding they are analyzing surveillance camera footage to see if they can identify the perpetrator.

Police need to act quickly. This incident has deeper implications. Dismemberment of animals is a chief sign of severe personality disorders and mental illness, often followed by escalating behaviors toward others.

- “Cruelty towards animals is a manifestation of two things – the desire to have control over weaker and smaller creatures and the tendency to derive sadistic pleasure out of it,” - Schizophrenia Research Foundation. -

Disgusting and cruel. Ritualistic? Anyway, somebody needs mental health care now, whatever drove them to carry out this obscene act against an innocent cat.

Historically speaking, this is how a serial killer is born.

Looks like we have a serial killer in training on our hands.

Uuuum, I am not to sure if this is natural or not, In the Uk its well know that the fox is partial to bitting the heads of rabbits, cats, and chickens, in Japan there are foxes, may be its a foxs that has bitten the heads of these cats, they seem to be the same red fox (Vulpes vulpes)

Uhmmm, the language in the article mentions the word "severed" which usually implies cuts. That is different from being bitten, torn or ripped off.

I would be more inclined to believe that animal(s) was killed for pleasure, revenge, terrorism (psychotic) or for food (necessity).

Creepy. I hope that is not another psychopathic murderer in the making. Very often they start with animals.

I dont think this issue here is cats in particular. The perp most likely killed other animals too and might graduate to humans.

Leaving something for everyone to see is a sign of someone needing attention and at the same time sowing fear. And yes, he could be a serial killer in the making.

@Strangerland

I don’t believe the world implies cuts at all. If the body part is separated from the body it has been severed.

Haha! Yes, it does!

Cambridge Dictionary:

to break or separate, especially by cutting:

Example:

The knife severed an artery and he bled to death.

*Her foot was severed from her leg in a car accident.*

or

Webster Dictionary:

*Sever** definition is - to put or keep apart : divide; especially : to remove (something, such as a part) by or as if by cutting. *

LOL! You are grasping at straws!

Look for another single probably unemployed male. That seems to be the usual demographic.

Summer has started, so that is typically crazy people season in Japan regardless of pandemic and SOE.

You are right, in many cases that can be a developing killer career. On the other side, many people have a job that includes killing animals and dismemberment of their body parts, so we cannot generalize that they all become a psychotic killer. But for sure, that’s something to be carefully watched and the suspect quickly to be identified.

Perhaps Yaks sending a message to someone? Happened like this a few years back in Nagoya. Guy owed them money.

Maybe someone ate it? The parts found would be the left overs.
