Any Japanese news outlets have not reported this case yet.

Japanese company, $20 million in misappropriated money, and he is still walking free?
Things that make you want to go..Hmmmmm! (again)

This is poetic. Now if only they could trick into coming back and then arrested him before he realizes what happened.

He's got plenty of money---it talks in Manila. Though it may cost a lot.

Ganbare Japan!.....I hope President Macron of France, and Prime Minister Abe can sort this out and have the charges against Carlos Ghosn dropped. He helped save Nissan, thus developing Japan and providing many jobs.
Ganbare Japan!
Japan and The Philippines have great relations, and Philippine people look up to Japanese. I hope PM Abe can sort this problem out with President Duterte and have the charges against Okada-san dropped. He is helping develop the Philippines and provide many jobs.

Insane Wayne, the world has changed, and Philippines has gained confidence recently.
Insane Wayne
The Philippines would never have voiced any opposition to a Japanese money as recently as 20 years ago. That fact that their court has stood up to Japanese criminal behavior is remarkable. Japan has lost its prestige in Asia.

wonder if hong kong and the Philippines have an extradition treaty?

What, you mean he wouldn't have been caught back then?
There's a long history of fraud, corruption and rich people trying to cut corners at the expense of others over the decades. And that's not just confined to this country, either.
Japan hasn't lost status, it's simply that rich people (and corporations) are often consumed by greed. If anything, they've lost status.
Insane Wayne
Japan has really lost status. This never would have happened even 20 years ago.
Toasted Heretic
Be better for the alleged fraudster to be served by a Japanese court, rather than Duterte's Philippines.

Wonder if he will be held in detention until he admits guilt.
