Police in Ishikari, Hokkaido, have arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of stealing three items of women’s underwear from a house. Police said a search of the suspect’s home turned up around 200 items of women’s underwear.

According to police, the suspect, a company employee, sneaked into a house through an unlocked door at around 9 p.m. on June 25 and stole three items of women’s lingerie. Local media reported that the occupants, a man and his wife, were home at the time, in another room, and were not aware of what had happened.

After noticing that some of her underwear was missing, the woman filed a complaint with police who checked street surveillance camera footage. The suspect was identified and arrested on Wednesday. Police quoted him as saying stealing women’s underwear satisfied his sexual desire.

Police said they are investigating where he got all the other underwear.

The mistake the phantom sniffer made was to get carried away and run off with the laundry basket. If he had acted with some self-restraint and restricted his haul of purloined panties to one, the missus would have blamed her husband…

I never got this particular fetish, nor the foot fetish thing. But, to each their own. Whatever floats your cookies.

He is a serial sex offender, and these types often escalate to more dangerous behaviour. But yes, let’s all trivialise the crime, it’s so funny. Tee hee. Chortle etc.

I don't understand this kind of behavior. This is way beyond me.

Attention pervs, stop this behavior and try to actually ask a girl OUT.

Good luck.

I mean at least this guy openly admitted his reason instead of “I don t recall”

They steal them to wear them. In a hazakashi culture, buying them is too embarrassing until you get caught stealing them I reckon.

But why exactly it has to include stealing? Many different or similar of such ‘things’ nowadays are sold in stores , vending machines or online shops, also fresh or used underwear for those specific pervies. There must be more to it, something no one else can ever understand.

Is it only in Japan that this happens? Or is it that we only hear about it happening in Japan? It seems utterly bizarre and even more strange, not that uncommon here!

From what I've seen the majority of these guys don't want "new" underwear.

They specifically want them used.

Many of them are double dipping for "thrills". The sexual gratification of having a woman's used underwear, as well as their klepto urges for the thrill of stealing... similar to the feeling of shoplifting.

The vast majority of them could easily go to any department store and buy a brand new pair of panties if they wanted to.

I don' t believe....kind of

Makes a change from reading about a Japan cop getting his stash of stolen knickers being found doesn't it?

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Long time visitors here remember the good old times when the police also used to publish photos of the stolen knickers, nearly arranged by colours in rows and columns... The nostalgia....

The klepto ninja undwear thief strikes again ! ! !

What's creepy is him sneaking into people's houses whilst they are home.

Keep your doors locked folks because you never know when a klepto underwear thief might be lurking or prowling around .

This seems to be one of those recurring crimes in Japan.

There is danger whenever an intruder enters a home. It could easily turn violent and maybe it has already happened, They need to cross reference records.

If you think its weird now, just wait until the Police have their next public Auction of stolen goods that haven't been claimed?
