Police in Tama, Tokyo, said Saturday they are questioning a 67-year-old woman after the car she was driving hit and killed a 9-year-old girl.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 4:30 p.m. Friday on a narrow road, Fuji TV reported. Police said the girl, An Aoki, was hit at a spot where there is no crossing.
The woman driving the car stopped, while a witness called 110. The girl was taken to hospital where she died about two hours later.
Police said the woman faces a possible charge of reckless driving resulting in death.

How can you make that judgement from the little bit of information in this article? How do we know that the old woman was driving perfectly and this girl ran out in front of her car without warning? I once watched a little boy run out from between two parked cars into the side of a car that was passing, 100% his own fault.

67 isn't that old , so the age thing goes out the Window, though that said, Medical staff should be obliged to inform the local authority if a Patient has developed a condition that would make Driving a danger to both themselves and others.

the sad thing is in Japan, even if its 5 billion percent the kids'/pedestrian/bicycle rider's fault and 0% the driver's fault, the driver is always the one in the wrong. My good friend was T-boned by a woman pulling out from a lot unto a busy street. My friend was driving and had no time to react. He said he just heard the bang from her car hitting his car. The police said it was 70% his fault because he could have sped up or slowed down. Its always your fault as a driver.
