A very depressed friend of mine snapped out of his low when he saw this guy.

They took their time...

He should also be given a part in a Japanese TV drama after that performance. His political career might be over, but I'm sure he has a future as an actor.

.... A very crap actor, I'd like to add.

I wonder what punishment his mother would apply.

Symptomatic of the emotional maturity of many Japanese, especially those in power.

Like the Korean 'nut' job though has probably paid the price already.

hence why he has his chance to be a drama actor in japan....

Now he has something to cry about.

@Mr. Perfect

I agree. This guy only got into trouble because he made a big scene, instead of making some lame excuse that for some reason authorities buy 99% of the time.

I hope they make his judge hearing public, i wonder if he can top his last "performance" ;)

Hyogo prefectural police in western Japan submitted papers to prosecutors on Ryutaro Nonomura, 48, alleging fraud, Jiji Press news agency said. It is now up to prosecutors to decide whether to indict him.

In all seriousness, this guy is being hung out to dry because of his antics, NOT his deeds, as this guy's misuse of funds was chump-change in the Japanese political arena. Lets see if the prosecutors office is so eager to indict Keiko Obuchi and EVERY other politician in Japan for doing the exact same thing and much worse but ON a grand scale, as these pompous politicians just shrug off allegations and continue on robbing us but are instructed by their mentors how to avoid getting caught again. How about every local, prefectural, national political office, politician and bureaucrats alike who go on sightseeing trips or purchase items not associated with their professional duties, on your tab and mine!

The prosecutors office would be smart NOT to indict him if they don't want to give the impression that they are hypocritical in whom they deem worthy of prosecuting.

I personally think he would do great as the new "Tora-san".

I'm curious to what he will be doing after all this. After all everyone recognizes him so might as well become a "talento" just like the rest of "has-beens" in Japan. He could do re-runs of his cry baby routine and it should perk up a lot of depressed Japanese youngsters and middle age people. Of course the older generation will either find him amusing or plain disgusting.

another temper tantrum on the TV and he might beat this charge.

He can make a fortune from TV commercials now! For example, he should be the poster-boy for No-more-tears Shampoo etc. "Even I don't cry when I'm using XXX shampoo"

Funny they always mention "tears streaming down his face" but I didn't notice any...? I think he'd be considered a "daikon actor" in Japan.

Who the heck is "Keiko Obuchi"?

The police are already deep into an investigation of Yuko Obuchi.

I apologize, I had a brain-fart, yes Yuko Obuchi. Not enough coffee this morning, I'm not perfect!

I'd like to say the same but my wife would not approve.

Regarding Nonomura, I think his poor performance must have been due to lack of practice. I suspect it was a last minute decision. It did have merit as comical entertainment, but once started, it was too awkward to back away from. The pretended difficulty in hearing after was a nice. In hindsight, pretending to fall over and/or have a seizure could have been a nice finale, the faker, the funnier.

As for what he did, just fine/jail him without bias, one way or another.

Well, we'll see. There was that whole "destroyed hard drives with a drill" thing last year that's probably impeding.

Episode II....Fraud . Lets wait and see what trick up his sleeve he acts out for this!!

You are hoping that companies that want their sales down very quickly will spend tons of money of commercial expenses to use him? Nicest person to him. Now, he does not have to beg his local yakuza oyabun to give him a construction labor job. All he has to do now is to find companies that want to be bankrupted.

Put him in the same cell with the "Nutrage" lady from Korea.

Japanese public prosecutors Wednesday declined to indict veteran politician Yoshimi Watanabe.

The Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office concluded that there was not enough evidence to charge Watanabe, 62, for violating the political funds control law.

Well, there you are! One example of a political figure who the prosecutors decline to prosecute!

Japanese public prosecutor's motto, Go after this little fish (Ryutaro Nonomura) and let the big ones slip away!

@Mr Perfect. I agree, he should have just said he was drunk and he would have been forgiven.
