A Chiba woman whose body was found on a patch of land in Narashino, Chiba Prefecture, may have been attacked on her way to work, police said Monday.
According to police, the body of 47-year-old Kaori Hirohata was found on Monday morning. TBS reported that Hirohata attended a meeting in the apartment in which she lived until around midday Sunday. She was then scheduled to work at a food manufacturing company in Funabashi from 10 p.m., but failed to report for her shift.
The patch of land where her body was found lies between her apartment and workplace. Police believe Hirohata was attacked on Sunday night while on her way to work. Investigators say that they examining CCTV camera footage to try and trace her movements.
