A new development has emerged in the case of Yukio Nakamura, 76, who was murdered in his home which was then burned down in Yachimata City, Chiba Prefecture, on May 11, police said Sunday.

According to police, a 47-year-old man and his 15-year-old son have been arrested. The boy was quoted as saying that they had known Nakamura had a large amount of cash stored away in his home. The arrested man's oldest daughter was a classmate of Nakamura's grandson, and the girl had previously visited the home, possibly learning about the money during that time.

Kids think 10000yen is a lot of money stashed away, the adult in this case should get a long sentence.

Horrible the man had to die, probably just a jar of 500yen coins. sad.

This is Japan where the interest rate under your mattress is higher than what the banks offer...he likely had a lot more than a jar of coins at home. No matter how much he did or didn't have at home, no amount of money is worth a person's life. Hope they caught the right culprits and if they didn't, hope they find them soon.
