Restaurant owner arrested for beating employee to death in Gifu

Actually this is coomon in Japan because there are programs on T.V gloryfying this kind of thing, and I`m not just talking the work place.

This kind of behavour is common with sports coaches and even at national level.

I watched a program about one of the national vollyball players during his training program for the Olympics, and that coached physically abused the trainee, seems common practice.

If any coach physically abused me I would have no respect for that person as a coach and secondly as a mentor.

In this case the guy is lucky it didn`t end up the other way, the owner being dead from an angry employee.

Violence is the the way to gain the respect of your charges, Stand up and be a better coach OR get out of the business.

This could set a new standard for treating your employee's in Japan with the economy in a nose dive. Forget a raise just give me my daily beating!

He killed a devoted worker, and what he was doing was the same as torture. Now let justie torture him first than hang him. How can you treat an employee this way? Was he making more money to do such negligence in his business? I would certainly cook him as a soup if he just put finger on me.

At least he didn't fire him. Ah, Japan's vaunted lifetime employment.

I saw something like this at a curry restaurant once. Non-fatal, though.

Further, "I didn't think he would die" so no murder-one ergo no death row for this guy.....but, no apparent remorse so long time as a guest of the state-run, no charge big hotel.

Good post med. You can add bullying to the list. The strong (or group) picking on those who are weak. At the same time, however, it is amazing how much punishment people endure in such situations. Hope they give this guy what he deserves. Life in prison.

Another example of discipline, correction, training and punishment being equated to physical violence.

gee - i wish i had that job. getting beaten every day. what is wrong with people. "duh, i didnt think he would die." if he didnt like the work attitude maybe he should look at himself. beating your employees every day really puts a damper on their attitude.
