Police said Thursday a restaurant owner was found murdered in Choshi, Chiba Prefecture, on Wednesday.
Police said they received a report from a male customer at around 4:30 a.m., saying that the manager of an establishment named Ippai 2 had been found stabbed, NTV reported. Police rushed to the scene to find the victim, who has been named as 61-year-old Yoshie Nemoto, lying in a back room of the restaurant having lost a large amount of blood from stab wounds to her back.
Doctors pronounced Nemoto dead at the scene and said that her wounds were consistent with those caused by an instrument the size and shape of an ice-pick, NTV reported.
