He got a nice piece of karma. Kudos on the store clerk for having the guts to disarm him.

I know I shouldn't have done so but I just couldn't help LOL at the title ! At last some "funny" news ! All's well that ends well - nothing was taken and only the "would-be" robber was injured ! Well done on the employee who wrestled the knife away !

He came back an hour later?? He hadn't found another phone in the meantime?? What on earth had he been doing?

Is he also going to receive psychiatric help?

At his age I wonder if this was his first attempt at a robbery, or is this his post-retirement "spending money" gig?

Senior citizen crime in Japan has been on the rise for years. Had my bike stolen by an old geezer once. Cops nabbed him.

Knowing that it may sound imprudent, I caught myself laughing at the botchy robber. The chances were that the store clerk didn't flinch at all from the threat of the holdup. My hat goes off to the way the clerk handled it dauntlessly. Sounds like the pain of the would-be robber's leg was really killing him.

Sorry, but isn't there a better translation of that last sentence? It just sounds so... literally translated.

Lying on the pavement somewhere, most likely.

I don't condone armed robbery, obviously, but there is something particularly sad about the state of things when the elderly are reduced to committing crimes to make ends meet.

Bless his heart!

Will be more pensioners committing crimes when there's no kids to pay for their retirement due to the declining birth rate. While now it probably mostly done because they're bored it'll be done in future because they'll not be able to afford to live.

So of him!

Congratulations store clerk on not getting yourself killed defending your boss's money!

When I was a teen working at Baskin Robbins we were told clearly not to be hero for their money. If only all bosses were so responsible as to give that speech.

I remember there was a break-in in the shop below my building. I heard the breaking of glass, and then I was watching the whole thing as the burglar went into the shop, was there for a few minutes (somehow the alarm didn't go off). Then the burglar shows up outside the store, a minute later a cab comes by and he gets into it... In the meantime I've secured the description of the robber and the cab and called the police. I'm still giggling from that ordeal years later.

This would suit the funny video shows they have on Japanese tv. Wait, since this is a Japanese person don't think they would show it.
