Police in Yokohama are investigating the theft of a safe from the house of a woman in her 90s on Saturday morning.

According to police, the woman called 110 at around 6:05 a.m. to say she had been awakened by the sound of a glass window being smashed, Kyodo News reported. She told police that when she looked out of the window of her 2nd-floor bedroom, she saw a white car driving away from her residence.

Police said the woman told them the small safe, containing about 50,000 yen, had been stolen from a downstairs room.
