A 31-year-old Sapporo city employee was arrested Thursday after police say he allegedly approached a 23-year-old woman from behind and grabbed her breasts.
The suspect, Daisuke Shimai, was charged with indecent assault. Police said the incident occurred while the woman was on her way home from work late Wednesday.
According to the city, Shimai works in accounting as part of a department that provides support for raising children in the city.

Next stop, the shameless justification. Something, perhaps, along the lines of, "With the introduction of the new child benefit, there was a lot of overtime and I was feeling stressed."

What the hell?! Just what is going on? What is causing people to discard every notion of civilized behavior and just go with base urges? Are they hoping the victim might respond favorably?! Un-fricking-believable.

How interesting - grabbing a woman's boobs was considered normal behavior 10 years ago - well, ok - in a bar it's normal.

They nailed a senior city clerk in Osaka the other day and he left his wallet at the scene..... To me as the years go by..... self discipline gets less and less every year. Its out of control now- the lack of discipline. I mean really, they gave em soaplands, porn in 7-11, a couple of freebie cheat on the wife passes, by the hour love hotels, hostess clubs, snack bars, wank rooms, the Internet and these guys still cant manage to control themselves. Loser should be no where near kids.

The only thing new here is that a) she complained and b) they arrested him. Most continue to get away with it.

Now this is a sad thing. For a city employee to do such a thing like this is a very bad thing. They should send him to jail for 5 to 7 years and fine him 2 million yen.

The suspect's name roughly means 'the loved one' in English...how ironic.
kokorocloud
I wish we knew his reasoning too. I'm sure it would be hilarious. Ugh. Disgusting.
nandakandamanda
rubytree, his name means nothing like that, I fear, so no irony at all. Just a kid who grew up on Crayon Shinchan...
rubytree
@nandakandamanda...really? Isn't 'daisuki' to love...and 'Daisuke' to be loved..? Anyway, bad guess.
NetteMarie
Rubytree it depends on the kanji, not just the sound.
Glad she reported him. Mysense I agree with you, what more do you need to relieve yourself?
Fadamor
Yes, one of the "nice" things I'm learning about kanji is just how many homophones there are. "Dai" can mean "big" so my uneducated guess is his name means "big moron". ;-)

Japanese woman grabbed by her breasts-what breasts. How about being charged with battery. Probally much more serious.

I also agree with My2sense...

Man rejected in love can do only this - molest and abuse innocent women who won't pay attention to him willingly... it is sad.
