A member of the Ground Self-Defense Force was arrested for assault and robbery on Tuesday after he reportedly punched the woman he had been seeing and stole her mobile phone.

According to police, Seigo Nishi, 36, Sergeant First Class of the Narashino 1st Airborne Brigade, was arrested at around 10:30 p.m. after he allegedly punched the 42-year-old woman, and then stole her mobile phone inside a car parked in a Funabashi City parking lot. The woman sustained a broken nose from the incident.

According to police, Nishi had visited the woman at her home, threatening, "If you don't come outside, I'm going to break the door down."

Nishi admits to the charges, and was quoted as saying, "Things haven't been going that well between us, and she had been avoiding me."

“If you don’t come outside, I’m going to break the door down.” What happened to I will huff and puff and blow the door down? People these days are ready to use their fists these days. Back to blowing please.

You might want to change the heading of this article. The rank of "Sergeant First Class" is not that of a (commissioned) officer. The guy is a non-commissioned officer. There is a big difference. Officers sit around all day in meetings believing that they run the military, non-commissioned officers run around all day knowing they run the military (lol).

Then again, you might want to leave the heading the way it is because sensationalism sells.

Policemen stalking women and attacking women for underskirt pictures, self defence members assaulting the people they should be defending, it is so sad so sad and upside down.

timorborder, A "non-comm" officer is still an officer - just one without a commission and is given a correspondingly smaller sphere of responsibility. I know "commisioned" officers like to pretend they are the only officers around, but that is just their conceit deluding them.

He is a loser. Men like him I imagine are used to pretend to be strong on the net but when it comes to real life - total losers. Soldiers should be strong in real life but he is such a total loser attacking a woman.

Fadamor - No non-coms are not officers because they don't hold a commission they hold a warrant.
