SDF officer arrested for sending threatening emails to high school student

A 56-year-old Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force official has been arrested on suspicion of sending threatening emails to a female high school student.

According to police, Hiroyuki Jin, a sergeant based at the MSDF's Yokosuka base in Kanagawa Prefecture, is accused of sending the emails to the 18-year-old student since January, Fuji TV reported. The latest email, dated March 3, read: “If you make adults angry, you won’t become a university student,” police said.

The incident came to light after the student contacted police following the receipt of the last series of emails.

According to police investigations, Jin became acquainted with the student in January this year when he apparently caught her stealing from a store. The two exchanged contact information at the time and Jin has been sending her a number of emails since then, including some of a sexual nature, TBS reported.

The suspect has denied the charge and was quoted by police as saying that he hadn’t threatened the girl.

disgusting.

SDF poster seems to be repelling more people than it’s recruiting

Looks like its not just the posters repelling the people these days. People who read about this headline might think twice about applying to the SDF-especially the young women. Real shame, cause they really could use some more young women there.

Lolicon or not this so called "SDF" guy, who are supposed to protect its people is blackmailing a young girl with intent to have sexual intercourse. You could hear a lot of this cases recently.

Legal age of not this guys is a perverted maniac who prey upon young girls. Japan needs some serious investigations about pedophelia in their country..

Guys, seriously, lolicon? That girl is 18 years old! There is nothing lolicon about it. Could you just hold your horses, please?

Yes, he is over 50, but last I checked 18 is not an illegal age to be dating.

The real problem is that when he caught her stealing he thought he could blackmail her about it. She probably didn't want anyone to know she stole so she went along with it until he started to freak her out.

What he did was surely illegal, but certainly not because of her age.

I doubt his story of her stealing as nowhere in article mentioned store showed video of the security camera.

This is a threat? More like the following here would be reason enough to keep this person out of college here in Japan.

Jin became acquainted with the student in January this year when he apparently caught her stealing from a store.
