I really feel for this poor guy. I can't imagine the pain he's experiencing, especially standing in that spot.

I just have a farfetched idea here. In my country, the local neighbourhood would designate people (i.e. volunteer watchmen) to patrol their area and contact the police should anything happen. Considering how far in between these residential homes are to the closest J-Cop, I think this could work.

Poor family. I bet it's just as raw today as when it happened. I can't imagine.

This is already very common in Japan.

Other than particularly rural areas, most residential areas have a koban fairly close.

Educator you're right.

Shibuya was the PTA head, a volunteer to "watch" the kids and of course lived locally and was well known and respected. His daughter and Linh were apparently friends.

So Sad.

Unfortunately, much to the surprise of many, most murders are not carried out by strangers, but by known people including friends and family.

Yes, he was. He abused his position terribly to satisfy his perverted lusts. It's all very well having "watchmen" everywhere, but what do you do when the watchmen need watching.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Don't we all? It must be so difficult for the victims of these kinds of crimes to find any kind of solace.

"Educator", I have stopped following the case after some time, did they uncover any undeniable evidence ,besides the schedule and DNA, to be sure that the head of the association was the culprit?

Give this "Creature" the "Death Penalty" for killing a Innocent Girl!

Then how are you going to argument the fact that you are a better human being than him, after you encourage his own murder? Or is it not on the agenda yet, in this era?

As the article says, he is charged with abandoning a body. Much of his journey to the river was caught on road cameras and reconstructed. The question at the trial will be whether there is enough circumstantial evidence to charge him with her murder.
