Now if the cops and prosecutors would start tossing these stalkers into prison MAYBE just MAYBE the message will get out that it's a no-no.

I'll bet the number is a hell of a lot higher

"The most common relationship between the victim and the perpetrator was boyfriend-girlfriend, including former partners." When integrity, maturity and independence are not of value in a culture this is what you get aka man children. Good that more people are coming forward, hope the boys in blue take them more seriously.

NEVER allow ANYONE to take compromising pictures of you. That's not a healthy relationship

Not sure I understand what revenge porn is... Anyone know where I can find a site with research?

I’m all for consenting amateur porn, but be careful, keep on an external HD not connected to the internet. Lots of porn is hacked off PCs or internet cloud.

there should be a high profile stalking case with 2 years in prison once a month to remind stalkers that the fear and harassment is not acceptable in this country, or any.

I personally know one women who was a talker and she was ruthless. It actually made two guys, both foreign have to leave the country.

Stalkers of any gender are scary. At least these guys were able to escape.

@Aly Rustom: Too late for me!

That was reckless Reckless!

2 ( +5 / -3 )

@ Haruka - most women are big "talkers" hey.

The only way to prevent revenge porn is not to take pictures or video of your love-making in the first place, and to summarily dump any lover who insists you do.

This revenge porn thing is absolutely absurd. I’m sure that most of these women were coheres into taking these photos with the boyfriend knowing full well he could use them in the future. I’d also have to assume that quite a few were taken without consent.

Nearly every one of the 30+ year old Japanese women I know has stories of stalking, harassment and violence from ex-boyfriends or husbands. It should be no surprise that a nearly third of 30-40 year old Japanese women are single by choice.

If people stop allowing photo & videos of themselves be taken in these compromising situations they wouldnt be having these problems in the future. A couple Of years ago I was followed by a Japanese woman in Fukuoka for period of four days until I cleared out and went to Nagoya.

Don't take pictures or videos of potentially compromising situations in the first place. Why is that so hard for these people to figure out?

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Sorry Kobe Bar! I meant Stalkers, but talkers is fine too.

Similar to trends seen in stalking cases, 91.6 percent of the victims were women, while 83.6 percent of the perpetrators were men. The most common relationship between the victim and offender again was boyfriend-girlfriend, including former partners.

If the % of female victims exceeds the % of male perps, does that mean women are doing it to other women? 8% is also a big difference. Having revenge porn that could out someone as gay must be massive leverage for (emotional) blackmail.

I hope whoever did the revenge porn on the 11-year-old girls got locked up. Anyone even just asking a minor for nude photos should go on a sex offenders register.

Or you could agree to take equally terrible naked photos of each other to serve as a deterrent lol ;)

Or you could just teach boys to obey the laws that exist about distributing photos of people without their permission and stop pretending that just because the photos are nude and some people like seeing nude photos, that magically makes a crime stop being a crime. You could do that.

Real adults understand what respect means.

Once the relationship ends, move on.

Seems that alot of people think it's only men who are stalkers or behave in a bad way. Feminist thinking at play. How many men have been stalked? How many men have been cheated upon? How many times did they lie to a man, broke his heart and then their the ones crying looking for excuses, while the man is working 12+ hours a day to provide for the family.

Some of this revenge porn is probably men who had a bad experience. If you don't want to be recorded then say No. Nobody even cares who is having sex when watching porn either. Another guy having sex with a girl. Like the other thousands of porn videos out there.

Why young boys? Are women saints? The law applies to both genders or get rid of it altogether.

Women can do no wrong these days. You know that.
