Police said Thursday they have arrested a 20-year-old vocational school student for obstruction of business after he confessed to inserting CDs into a train door mechanism in Kyoto Prefecture.
The incident took place on the Keihan train from Demachiyanagi to Nakanoshima at 7:50 a.m. on Feb 14 as the train reached Yawata, according to a Sankei Shimbun report. The man, who has been named as Hioki Tadaaki, allegedly inserted several CDs into the automatic door mechanism, causing it to malfunction. He was later arrested and reportedly confessed to the charges during police questioning.
Keihan operators say that there have been seven other cases of trash being inserted into Keihan train door mechanisms since late January. Police are currently investigating the possibility of Tadaaki's involvement, Sankei reported.© Japan Today
