Suspect sent to prosecutors after stabbing man in car parking lot

A 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after stabbing a male office worker in a parking lot in Oirase Town, Aomori Prefecture, has been sent to the public prosecutor's office.

Shuya Sasaki, an unemployed man from Towada City, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after he stabbed a 38-year-old man from Misawa City multiple times in the abdomen with a fruit knife in the parking lot of a supermarket at around 8:20 p.m. on Sept 6, NHK reported.

Police said the victim is receiving treatment at a hospital in Hachinohe City and that his condition is serious but stable. The victim told police he did not know Sasaki.

Extremely fortunate the victim is stable even after being repeatedly stabbed, for all the damage a deranged person can do, it seems only having access to a poor weapon is still a huge advantage for the victim.

so this says suspect but already had said he stabbed him. Which is it? Suspect or already convicted?
