Bodily fluid I am assuming does not mean spit... What did he do, carry a bottle of the liquid with him or he simply went to the rest room real quick to collect it and then did the foul act in a public and most likely crowded place no less!?

Did not anyone try and step in to knock his block off or were they just as confused as the poor little girl? Make sure both she and the perp get a thorough check up. Who knows what that idiot has.

His name has been exposed by the national media. In Japan such a punishment is as bad as being burned at the stake. Not only is he facing the music now, his parents will also feel the shame. They'll never be respected in their neighborhood again.

One of the good things about Japan is that people still have a sense of shame. In other countries blame and responsibility would be shifted away from the individual and toward society, "he had a difficult childhood, so it's not really his fault." Or, "I can't imagine how bad his parents are feeling right now." Here Sato-sensei will not be able to blame someone else, and his parents will take more than a little share of it for not raising him properly.

The information about the fluid was not released probably because it's embarrassing enough already for the family and the girl, no need to make it worse. Put this nutcase away for life, he will repeat offend.

The scary part is that he is an elementary school teacher.  It is plausible that he did something indecent at school too.

Michael Jackson, I agree that it must be embarrassing to put this story on the media and very hard on the girl. SO WHY DO IT? Why does this have to be reported? If newspapers and other media had any sense of ethics, they would just let it go quietly and let it be dealt with by the girl's parents and the school authorities.

I have posed the question on many occasions, is it not time Japan has some sort of nation wide sex offenders register? If it was found that his motives were sexual he should be placed on this register, if his motive weren't sexual he should be monitored for a time period of XX years. I can't get my head around people like this guy, why would you undertake such an act, then run off ! does he get a kick out just the act or what? I am not a shrink but this guy needs one very quickly.

I can only hope that he doesn't simply move to another prefecture, pass a teacher's test and get employment as a teacher again.

As the father of a girl this is one of the things that freaks me out about sending her to school here. Sure freaks are in all nations but japan has it repressed madness more than most. If this was my girl he would want to run and hide as the law would not save him from me. Sex offenders register please japan and maybe some less pornoifying as young girls would be a good start.

If he had a bottle of seltzer water and sprayed her, then no big deal. However what he did was sexual in nature, (As he admitted and still would be considered, even if he denied it.) regardless whether he had a prior cup full or extracted it right then and there, it is still sexual and wrong. Had he thrown just sweat or simply spit on her, they would of said so.

Had this been a grown woman and in public/nonconsenual this still would be wrong on so many levels. But that it happened to a little girl is far more worse and he was in contact with such young people at least five or six days a week.

In the spirit of good old fashioned internationalization, there ought to be a 'Semester Abroad' program for prisoners between countries that are friendly with one another. After this guy is sentenced, perhaps he can do his semester in one of our fine American state prisons, where he can get a taste for what happens in prison to diddlers who pull that stuff on innocent little kids when the guards 'accidentally' take too long of a smoke break...

@Mjackson, sexual assault or sexually motivated assault, does it matter? were splitting hairs here, either way he should not have done this. If he can't be charged because it was just water he threw, how about the charge of common assault? do they have this capability or law in Japan? As for the police, well how long does it take to investigate or test a fluid? I am sure that they have a lab somewhere that they can test stuff in a few seconds.

It's interesting, every post that mentions it could be urine gets negative stats. He should have a severe punishment to stop an act like this ever happening again.

There are many weird, strange and scary people in Japan. Japan needs to have a better mental health service system which deals with internal problems and uncontrollable desires.
