Teacher says he trespassed into apartment to see women’s underwear

Police in Chino City, Nagano Prefecture, said Sunday that a 25-year-old elementary school teacher, who was arrested for intruding into an apartment, told them that he just wanted to see women’s underwear.

The suspect, Chiki Machida, teaches at Tamagawa Elementary School. School officials apologized at a news conference on Sunday and on Monday met with parents of the children whom Machida teaches, Fuji TV reported. The principal said he was surprised to hear the news of Machida’s arrest and told reporters that he was always in a good mood and never seemed to be stressed out.

According to police, Machida entered the apartment of a man and woman in their 20s sometime between med-February and early April. He did not know the residents, police said, without elaborating on how Machida got into the apartment.

In early April, Machida was seen by a passerby acting suspiciously on the balcony of another apartment in Suwa City, also in Nagano Prefecture. After police took Machida into custody over that incident, he admitted to the Chino apartment intrusion. He was quoted as saying he got a thrill out of seeing women’s underwear.

Sexual Perversion? What is the definition? Some of the sexual activities engaged in these days were punishable by imprisonment or even the death penalty in the days of yore. This case is a mere peccadillo on the scale of offences though the trespass charge may not be.

The murder and sexual assault of young children always involve males.

Incorrect!

Unfortunately, females do assault and murder children.

Education board should Consider to expelling this sick teacher without delay.

If convicted of a crime.

The lack of details around how he got inside leaves many unanswered questions.

By the definition of "pervert", all practicing gay and trans people are perverts, but adultery is not. Good to know.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3484266/Are-pervert-Study-suggests-half-deviant-sexual-acts.html says that over 46% of people in a 1000+ person study were perverts.

Voyeurism was reported by 35 per cent of men and women

"Perverted" is indeed connected to unwanted or illegal acts.

Not according to the definition of the word.

What if you look at girls underwear withOUT breaking in to their house?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I like watching female underwear. But I don't break into other people's house.

He should find a girlfriend like in normal life.

I agree. What a perv.

In my lexicon, being perverted is not at all connected to illegal acts, unwanted acts, assault, etc. Like Strangerland, there have been plenty of female perverts in my life, and I've enjoyed them all.

What you are referring to is "kinky". There's nothing wrong with that.

"Perverted" is indeed connected to unwanted or illegal acts.

Sorry, but you're wrong about that.

perversion: sexual behaviour that is considered strange and unpleasant by most people (https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/perversion)

perversion: an aberrant sexual practice or interest especially when habitual

Nothing wrong with a good honest fetish. But the line is crossed when crimes are committed to satisfy the 'craving'. Such as trespassing, break and enter, theft, etc. It's the 21st century, there are myriad ways for this dude to cater to his needs- order undies online, buy in a shop, go to a "specialty needs pub/parlor" and buy them from the staff, and so on. Perhaps part of the thrill is the potential of getting caught...

I'm quite sure this discussion thread doesn't need those particular details, nor would the mods appreciate them. But to describe generally, my concept of this word is "something outside of the usual" or "something deviant" in a sexual sense.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, zichi. Perhaps the issue here is a matter of vocabulary? In my lexicon, being perverted is not at all connected to illegal acts, unwanted acts, assault, etc. Like Strangerland, there have been plenty of female perverts in my life, and I've enjoyed them all.

No! it does not, for starters, 52% of the population are female.

There are just as many female perverts as males. It is just easier for them to get away with it, as most men won't complain.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

The dude is weird. He may someday go from women's underwear to little girl's underwear - He needs to be watched.

No! it does not, for starters, 52% of the population are female.

You're kidding yourself if you think there aren't a large amount of perverted women in this country.

Our kids are not safe to such sick teachers,

Govt. should immediately band this sick and cancel his license.

If not, then sure we don't need to wait so long for another horrible news.

zichi: Anyone who commits a...perverted action can't be allowed to work with young children.

Really? Wow. Disqualifies most of the population many times over.

With a name like Machida, he cannot be all that bad. I digress. I have no sympathy for this Japanese Teacher. He committed a crime. Put him in detention. Or, jail. Are they one in the same?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Ah yes, every boy's childhood dream!

The principal said he was surprised to hear the news of Machida’s arrest and told reporters that he was always in a good mood and never seemed to be stressed out.

This almost bothers me as much as what the teacher did. This principal's understanding of the world is as juvenile as the kids he's responsible for. Only those in a bad mood or who feel stress are sexual predators!? Those are the warning signs? The rest of us, non-criminals, better be careful to ever let our genki-mask drop or show any signs of stress--we might start stealing underpants or groping defenseless women on the train.

he was always in a good mood and never seemed to be stressed out.

Right, had he been stressed out that might have explained his actions, but here? We are just at a loss let me tell you.

If he was sniffing your family and loved ones underwear, maybe you would feel more than just the desire to give him a job at a laundromat.

Who said anything about smelling/sniffing underwear? The article didn't. He was looking at them.

I am concerned about entering uninvited.

Different folks different strokes---but some are more different than others!

While what he did was horrible, could have just gone to a lingerie shop to get his thrills, he can’t be fired from the Department of Education without an investigation. Also, if he quits during the investigation he gets to keep his teaching license and can teach at another elementary school afterwards.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Another sex offender. I hope he has been fired.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

And will he get fired from his job as a children's educator? Coz I certainly wouldn't want such a perv as the teacher of my kids.

Funny how different people read this article. Says more about the commenter than the guy doing the B&E.

Some see it is objectification of .... er .... objects.

Some see it is a sex offense.

Some see it as a gateway offense for some other possible offenses.

I think the guy just needs to get a job in a laundry so the mysteries of clothing aren't mysteries anymore. Seeing enough dirty and sweaty underwear should cure that need.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

@zichi. I think traumatizing and giving paranoia to parents and kids is worse. The school didn’t commit the perverted crime.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

What has it to do with the school and students and parents?

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Why? It’s just clothing!

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

Surprised that there is nothing in the article with regards to him being fired and to never be allowed to enter a place of education.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

He was quoted as saying he got a thrill out of seeing women’s underwear.

Perhaps he should have just gone to a department store. He's just another sexual deviate delusional creep. People say that pot is a gateway drug. Well, I'd say a panty fetish is a gateway drug to more sinister sexual perversions that could go as far as child rape. This is a mental illness and should be treated as such. Like that joker that got arrested a few weeks ago for stealing women's shoes because the smell got him off. It's not a fetish! It's a delusional mental illness!

This type of repugnance will only cease when Japan accepts that it's inappropriate to treat women like chattel. We'll know that's happened when the prevelance of rape porn drops and Japanese girls (monitor females) aren't hupersexualized and fetishsized.

This man is the very reason Japans birth rate is in decline

It's all down to him, is it?

That's a heavy burden to shoulder. Not that I'm excusing his bizarre and scary actions. He needs psychiatric help, counselling... whatever it takes.

9 ( +13 / -4 )

I pick and pay for my wife's underwear a few days before valentines day , I get a great thrill out of it and love the banter with the sales staff.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Starts with looking getting jollies off, break and enter, bizarre inclinations. Level up...rape, murder. And this is a teacher? Definatly should be on a watch list. And be urged to find a job in a slaughter house to satisfy his fancies. Teaching probably not the job for him.
