Police said Thursday that a Shizuoka man who has been indicted for the murder of his wife told them that he put the body of his ex-girlfriend, who disappeared several years ago, into a metal drum and threw the drum away somewhere in Numazu City.

Police launched a search based on the details revealed by 44-year-old Kazuya Kuwata and discovered part of a body in Numazu. They are working to identify the remains and plan to lay additional murder charges against Kuwata.

According to police, the missing Gotemba woman was in her 20s when she disappeared. After she went missing, Kuwata withdrew large amounts of cash from her bank account over several transactions.

This guy is just pure evil. He should be thrown into jail for 99 years and have all of his assets be taken away from him and be given to the family of this girl that he murdered. People like him do not belong in society. They should all be thrown into a large Jail cell and left there for many years.

So a woman goes missing and someone "just happens" to withdraw large amounts from her bank account? Did police not bother to check video footage of the ATM where that happened? It seems the reason the Japanese cops have brutal interogations is that they cannot do real policework.

Chronology:

2005 October~November: The suspect killed at then his girl friend, put her in the metal drum in Numazu. The suspect withdrew money from her account around that time.

2006 June: The family of the girlfriend filed a missing persons report to the police.

2010: The suspect, now married to another woman, killed her in Feb. and was arrested. During the incarceration, the police were able to connect the 2005 murder.
