Thief on scooter snatches bag containing Y500,000

Police in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture, said Sunday that a man on a scooter grabbed a bag containing about 500,000 yen from the manager of a bar.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night. Fuji TV reported that the 43-year-old bar manager was walking in front of JR Matsudo Station when a man on a scooter came up behind him and snatched the bag. The money was for employees' salaries, police said.

Yes! very suspicious, he has been suspicious for 5 years that I know I know of, in Matsudo and near by.

Who is the owmer of the bar? Manager? If that manaher is not the owner, he stole the 500,000 ¥

I would bet he wasn't just using an ordinary bag, he probably made it very easy for an opportunistic thief to spot.

Why are their salaries being paid in cash? This easily could have been avoided if they did direct deposits like any respectable company.

There must be merits and demerits paying cash salary, this is one of the demerits. There's a police box at the station square by the way.
