Police in Isehara, Kanagawa Prefecture, have arrested three 16-year-olds on suspicion of extortion after they allegedly threatened two high school boys, demanding cash and their mopeds.

The three suspects, including one scaffold worker, have all admitted to the charge, police said.

According to police, the incident occurred on Jan 4 along a street in Isehara, Sankei Shimbun reported. The suspects picked a fight with two 16-year-old students from Ebina and Atsugi, at around 10 a.m. that lasted for about 45 minutes.

During the altercation, the victims were told to hand over any cash they had on them and had their moped seized. The suspects got away with 103,000 yen in total from the two victims.

Afterwards, the student from Ebina contacted his older brother who asked to meet the three suspects while his friend called police to the scene.

So, these are ‘juvenile on juvenile’(?)‘Crimes against Persons’.

There were threats; physical assault; ‘strong-arm robbery’ (no weapon); vehicle larceny (moped licensed for roadways); and, extortion (holding property (moped) for ransom):”Afterwards, the student contacted his older brother to meet the 3 suspects while his friend called police” - There’s more to this story than we’ve gotten.

These ‘juvenile’ crimes will probably not be included in the NPA statistical report.

Regardless of how much money the kids had on them, it is not right for those thugs to rob them. Rich or poor, anyone should be able to carry as much money around as they like, and they shouldn't have to be afraid be robbed.

The suspects picked a fight for about 45 minutes.

45 minutes? What the hell were they doing? Dancing and gambling?

A jacking shouldn't take more than 5 minutes at most.

> The suspects got away with 103,000 yen in total from the two victims.

So two 16 year old students had roughly 50,000 yen piece on them.......and mopeds........What were they doing? Going down to the local city hall and pay their tuition or something? Get real, no regular student has that much skrilla. Who are these guys? Rich kids?

Those three punks need to be thrown in REAL jail, and the two rich boys better learn how to walk away.......45 minutes.............

......lasted for about 45 minutes.

Ok, hold on... cognitive dissidence has started, and my American brain is doing some calculations here...

5 teenagers, on a Monday morning, at 10AM(it's bright), fight, in a street, ... for 45 minutes.

(Keep in mind a Senior Junior Olympic Boxing match is 3 - 2 minutes rounds for a total of 6 minutes.)

And nobody reports anything?

Then I'm factoring the thousand dollars, and moped. rolls eyes Sure. 16 year olds carry that kind of cash all the time.
