Three bodies found in house in apparent murder-suicide

Police in Higashi-Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, said that three bodies were found in a house in what they believe was a murder-suicide.

According to police, the bodies were those of Masumi Nakanishi, 71, his 69-year-old wife Chiemi and their 32-year-old son Tatsuro, NTV reported. The bodies were discovered by police officers who went to the house at around 11 a.m. on Tuesday after receiving a call from the wife's workplace after she failed to show up for work.

Police said Nakanishi was lying face-up on a bed in a room on the first floor and Chiemi on a bed on the second floor. Tatsuro was found hanging in a room on the second floor. There were no visible external injuries on the parents, and there were no signs of a break-in.

Police believe Tatsuro killed his parents and then hanged himself. An autopsy will be held to determine the cause of death of the parents.

Another in his 30's still living with his parents? Not all his fault, if your kids are still "at home" in their 30's, you have failed as a parent.

I really dislike translating 心中 as "murder suicide". I believe a better term would be "collective suicide".

Because it is impossible to determine whether all participants willingly committed suicide or if any of them were forced into it. Calling it "murder suicide" already implies that there was a murder, which is clearly not an estabiished fact.

Post Mortems will end the speculation.

Not all his fault, if your kids are still "at home" in their 30's, you have failed as a parent.

In my neighborhood, 77% of the children are 25 or older, went to good universities, have good jobs, are single, and live at home. I don’t think their parents have failed.

So far, none of the children have killed their parents.

So, how would you explain exhorbitant real estate values and rent in some places, like SF, LA, and London, for examples, so high that people in that age group or other age groups can't afford such places because of salaries not keeping up with that? Is that parental failure?
