Police in Komae City, Tokyo, on Thursday questioned the owner of a beauty salon over the murder of the salon manager whose body was found on the premises.
According to police, they received a call at around 7 p.m. on Wednesday from an employee, reporting that salon manager Hitomi Kamidate, 58, was unconscious on the floor, bleeding from head wounds.
TBS reported that Kamidate had been struck several times and had sustained a severe injury to the back of her skull. She was taken to the hospital where she died about two hours later.
The employee went to the salon looking for Kamidate after he received call from her daughter concerned that she hadn't heard from her mother.
Police said the owner of the salon, a man in his 70s, has admitted striking Kamidate after they argued over rent and other financial matters.

Grumpy old man gets angry and hits the old lady on the head. Should have thought before what he did, and that too at this age. There are other ways of solving problems instead of losing it like this!!

Absolutely, Doug. The problem seems specifically localised to the Japan region. You don't see people in other parts of the globe hitting each other do you? That would be considered poor form, a human rights abuse some might argue.

Whatever makes you think that Japanese society thinks this behavior is correct? Whatever makes you think this behavior is uniquely Japanese?
I hardly think there is a correlation between bad slapstick and dangerous violence in society.
Call this for what it is, an isolated crime.

Sad.
Also, this, the action and tacit acceptance, is not unique to Japan. Not by any means.

Hmmm. I wonder what was really going. Was he cheating her or was she cheating him?
