How on earth has Abe kept his job as pm?! This was his justice minister. Bribing officials!

It would be funny if Japanese nationals start jumping bail and requesting refugee status in other countries.

rgcivilian, it was bribes worth Y29M. Huge difference with Ghosn is that this guy was Justice Minister! Ghosn's issue was inside the company for which Nissan would have to prove evidence of. These two blatantly went out and bribed political representatives.

The only reason they were denied bail is that they pleaded not guilty. No need for any interpretation or any similarity to Ghosn's case. Japan injustice system don't understand the idea of "bail".

fitting considering Carlos Ghosn treatment by J authorities

No Bail , seems legit.

@Bjorn yep, you’re right about that. I mean take a look at Ghosn, The whole situation. The last thing we need is another repeat of that. No matter how flawed the justice system is, it doesn’t justify running from the law, period.

A number of European countries do not have cash bail systems.

Well, I sure that if Carlos Ghosn could escape Japan so easily, so could they.

I can't speak on the 2 indicted suspects as flight risks, but really can anyone compare a measly 1.5 million yen to the bulk of Ghosn? Not even a drop in a bucket.

Why Bail!? when it's warm and safe where she is?!
