Tokyo police searching for serial arsonist

Police in Tokyo's Kita Ward are on the lookout for a serial arsonist. According to police, there have been a series of fires involving garbage and other disposable materials in the ward since May of this year.

Police said Thursday that the most recent case occurred on Wednesday, TV Asahi reported. In one incident, a newspaper delivery man found a bucket of garbage on fire in the refuse collection area outside an apartment block. Immediately following that discovery, emergency services received reports of two fires in garbage cans in a nearby park.

Police say these incidents bring the total number of cases to 11, TV Asahi reported.

They better catch the culprit fast. Acts in all forms of criminal activity seem to escalate gradually over time in order to maintain the 'rush' these people receive from it. Now, it's trash, but I'm afraid that it will lead to buildings which in turn could lead to harming other people. Douse the problem ASAP!

Its sad and bad enough that the gov removed most of the public trash cans because of a previous even but now this.

Although from the sound of it, it sounds like a misguided youth or someone craving attention. Unless they can find a connection between all the locations.

Japan has plenty of this nut cases, in my part of Tokyo too! I will never forget seeing a regular house burn down at 10 am! This guy would make sure everyone went off to work, school etc..and then attack, here in Western Tokyo.
