This is heart breaking indeed. Is stalking a mental disease? why such people are not treated at mental facilites so that they do not commit crimes? There is great possibility that they commit horrendous crimes so either hospital or jail is nicessary for such people to solve such problems.

I am really sad that some of the victims of stalkig are weak and do not take action in advance. Stalkers are not that brave, they are mental but most of them are cowards who cannot do anything if there is strong opposition against them

I just hope they catch this horrible man and at the same time beat him exactly the same way he put her through.

I think stalking is quite the opposite of cowardice. If you were running up and ringing someone's doorbell all the time and then running away, I might say that was cowardly, but to go to someone's apartment and loiter around, call them all the time, email them all the time, drive by their home, or outright kill someone is hardly the act of a coward. That takes quite a lot of guts. The wrong kind of guts, but still guts.

Neighbors say that at about the same time Moroga had disappeared, an argument between a man and a woman could be heard, as well as the sound of breaking glass.

The neighbors need to be proactive instead of reactionary. Why didn't the neighbors call the police? They probably could have help prevent the crime or at least get clues to go after the person(s) who did it.

Let's hope that the accident was reported to police. If the car was not stolen, it shouldn't be too hard to find this guy.

Japan needs to do something about violence against women. Too many people are openly violent.

Scary. But I don't know if you've ever tried to report stalking in Japan (I have) but the police can't (or won't) do anything until there is an actual act of violence, or an attempt at violence. Threats and harassment are not enough to get them to act.

This case should be easy unless he is in Thailand by now... me thinks. Put me on the case if you want.

Sarah brings up a great and relevant point. I also have come across stalkers. These crimes are detestable and have no place in a modern Japanese society.

Not only that, but how in the world did they know to match it to her, and what was the other source of the DNA they matched it to? Is it standard procedure when someone has gone missing to raid their apartment for DNA samples?

Could be yakuza, or the son of an idiot yakuza there in Fukuoka. Idiots breed idiots and you have to be an idiot to kill a woman, just because your lousy bike got hit by her car?? RIP poor Fukuoka woman.

elbudamexicano, we don't know what happened. For all we know she may have run a stop sign on her bicycle at a blind intersection causing an accident that in Japan, the driver would get blamed for. She might have been trying to bleed him dry. No sense assuming she is an innocent lamb just because she was killed.

But, on the other hand this case has been solved way too fast. I suspect some sort of cover-up and maybe even the making of the guy into a patsy.

Why? It's it hasn't been solved. Nowhere near. All they've done is identified her.
