Police in Miharu, Fukushima Prefecture, have arrested a 50-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of dangerous driving resulting in death after the small truck he was driving hit and killed a man and a woman.
According to police, Yoshitaka Morito, of no fixed occupation or address, has admitted to hitting the couple — a 55-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman — as they were cutting grass along the side of National Route 288 at around 7:55 a.m. Sunday, Sankei Shimbun reported. After hitting the couple, Morito kept going, police said.
Another worker witnessed the incident and called 110. Police said Morito, who does not have a license to drive a truck, was found four hours later about 20 kilometers away parked on a road in Sukagawa City.© Japan Today
