Truck driver stabbed on Yokohama street after dispute with motorcyclist

Police in Yokohama have arrested a 26-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of attempted murder after he stabbed another man following an argument over a traffic matter.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 6:20 p.m. Friday in Minami Ward, Sankei Shimbun reported. Police said a passerby called 110 and reported that two men were loudly arguing.

Police went to the scene and found a parked truck with the window on the driver’s side smashed. The 57-year-old driver was crouched on the ground, bleeding from a knife wound to the face.

Police said another man, identified as Ichiho Tamura, was brandishing a survival knife. A police officer drew his gun and ordered Tamura to drop the knife. He was then taken into custody.

Police said Tamura, who was four times over the legal limit for alcohol, had been riding a motorbike just before the trouble.

The truck driver was taken to hospital to be treated for stab wounds to his face and side.

A drunken biker pulls a knife in a road rage incident and stabs the other driver in the face in safety Japan. Yup!

Do you actually think other thinking folk resonate with your logic?

An incident does not make a whole nation, yes in “safety Japan” too.

Hows the crime rate in your nation may I ask?

What a tough guy. Pulled a knife then messed himself when a cop pulled a gun on him.

I love it how so many people just happen to carry knives with them.

pop goes the weasel....

"A police officer drew his gun and ordered Tamura to drop the knife."

It looks like its time to start having JAPAN'S police officers equipped with tasers, and body cams

"Police in Yokohama have arrested a 26-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of attempted murder"

another case of road rage...

I see many bikers acting somewhat stupid or imitating western tough gangsters on bikes, but never have they ever caused any trouble at all. This idiot must have had too much to drink and lost control, and almost his life. Lock him up and make him suffer.

"suspicion of attempted murder"

I bet the victim did not feel it was a suspicious attempt on his body.

Doubt he was a Biker, probably some Screaming B1tch on a scooter more like it.

Just because some one rides a two wheeled device doesnt make them a biker , thats a huge generalistion and very incorrect.

Japanese society is no more violent than any other country, this is uncommon.

Do the hustle:

"Safety Japan" does not imply there is no crime at all here. If there was, no police was needed.

From where I stand, Japan is the safest place I have ever been to. Get some perspective.

I always had a swiss knife in my pocket, until that became too complicated (I had to abandon too several knives in airports as if I could possibly go get it in my backpack during the flight). That was not meant to fight. In the countryside everybody had one as you may need to peel a fruit, a cut branch or open a can, a bottle or use it as a tool to fix whatever.

This would be a relevant comment if it was an isolated road rage incident. However, road rage is rampant in safety Japan. There have been many recent incidents of road rage with quite a few resulting in death

Comparisons with my nation are irrelevant. This article and newspaper are from safety Japan. However, my country doesn’t plug itself as a ‘safety county’ as Japan does. Based on the amount of violent crime in Japan it is not really much safer than any other country, which makes the whole ‘safety Japan’ thing a load of hogwash.

Is that so?

I like to challenge comments that are somewhat offensive.

If a crime occurs somewhere, I dont mentally try to attribute that to society as a whole.

A man while riding around drunk with a large knife looking for trouble, stabs another in the head, and then waits and gloats over the person.

But yeah you now state that you really think Japans safety record and attempts at it are “hogwash” (your words). I m guess to you every time theres a violent crime its an example of this hogwash?

Yeah dude, I am the one who needs perspective lol

"a passerby called 110 and reported that two men were loudly arguing"

"would you like me to stab you?" "I'm unemployed with no fixed address", I dare you! ooops I was drunk, and don't remember.

"two men were loudly arguing"

you can see that at many places in Tokyo, especially on Saturday nite or Sunday. Once they start I never stay around to see if it will escalate.
