Two men arrested for forcing 18-year-old girl into prostitution

26 Comments

Police said Thursday they have arrested two unemployed men in Tokyo's Kabukicho for forcing an 18-year-old girl into prostitution in September and taking large amounts of protection money.

According to police, one of the men, identified as Ryuichi Higurashi, 38, forced the young girl to work on the streets as a prostitute while he kept guard in an effort to avoid police detection, TV Asahi reported.

Police said Higurashi coerced the girl into working as a prostitute, telling her he would "take care of her," in exchange for his paying back her extensive host-club debts. Higurashi also faces charges for taking a daily sum of 7,000 yen from the girl as protection money.

So did he force her or coerce her??

How did an 18-year-old girl rack up "extensive host-club debts?" I have more questions, but this one answer would do.

I'm sure the poor girl had absolutely no idea what she was getting into. No idea whatsoever.

Ah, the host club industry strikes again!

Jeff - The 'pimps' of the hostess clubs charge the girls huge penalties for being late or taking absences. Usually the penalties are equal to two or three days pay. It is extortion at the lowest level. The whole industry should be outlawed. It's a disgrace!

Scum yakuza!! Pimps??? More like parasites of society!! Feeding off the weakest!! No shame??!!

@Disillusioned -- Thanks! You're probably right. I read "host club" as being where women went to schmooze with boy toys. Didn't realize 18-year-olds were allowed to work/frequent such places.

She ran up host club debt, not hostess club.

Forced or coerced makes no difference - these pieces of filth pushed her into it.

@Disillusioned

There are host clubs and hostess clubs. Host clubs are where women pay for male company and hostess clubs where men can pay for female company. Unless the editor is mistaken this girl ran up costs at a host club that she couldn't afford to repay and so this guy offered to pay her debt off if she sold herself.

Down with such monsters and hang them!

Looks like the 18 year-old ran up a ton of debt while visiting a host club.

Happens in every country in the world.

They hook them in the youngsters and then exploit them.

Only way to stop this form of abuse is to enforce laws, but if the folks that enforce laws are paid off.......well then there is little to do but just speak out and fight the good fight.

But, sadly if you live in a nation where the social media is controlled by the elites that profit from the abused kids, well then you don't stand a fighting chance.

@Disillusioned

Sorry but that's completely wrong. This girl kept going to the host club as a customer and couldn't pay all the bills. So they arranged this prostitution sting so that she can pay back.

Both of them are at fault here

Hide Suzuki; Owing money is not illegal but forced prostitution is.

@falseflagsteve

Then she could have just gone to the police. The title is misleading, "coerced the girl into working as a prostitute", doesn't sound like she was forced.

HOST CLUB: Allow me to clarify. Once young girls start to make money on the game, their pimps and other scumbags direct them to toward a "keiretsu" host club, for some after work drinks and relaxation.

Yep, the girls are price-gouged at these clubs, and the various scumbags divvy up the revenue from her bar bills. The girls thus become poorer, and the circle continues. No way that these guys are going to allow teenage girls to get rich.

Bull, she went to pay with young ,fashionable boys and drink drinks and figured she aint got cash to pay...there are no victims there

Why is an 18 year old going to a host club??

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Seems only few of Jyoungsters are planning higher education. More are into biking and having fun while some immigrant young people are pursuing higher education with the dole out of the Jgovt. What has happened to most of the Jyoung people?

"Why is an 18 year old going to a host club??"

See my post. The Japanese have reported on this phenom in the past.

Sad but unfortunately common story. ppl run up debt, they want to start a business but fail, they are a little too ambitious in their estimation of realistic house value, they lose their business and their modest house debt is unbearable, or like this girl they have an uncontrollable urge to consume some sort of luxury item/ service that is just beyond their means, etc etc

Totally random number, but I would say that for every salaryman committing suicide there are TWO obasan or wakai Niizuma who make porn tapes or start hooking for debt.

She must really have no self worth and at any age thats sad but these two punks should be jailed or thrown into the town dump naked as they are but human waste !

@JeffLee

I thought host clubs were overpriced bars. How is it that they serve her alcohol? Its illegal

@Mirai

I've always had the impression that the rule isn't strictly enforced, especially in a place like Kabukicho. I've never seen people carded in Japan, a common site in my own country.

shame on them. I hope they get life for this. and the sad thing is more of this is goin on and nobody knows.
