Police in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, are looking for two men who assaulted and robbed an 18-year-old female student.
According to police, the girl was walking home at around 8:50 p.m. Saturday when two men kicked her down onto the road and stole her bag containing about 8,000 yen, TBS reported.
Police quoted the girl as saying the men came up on her from behind and beat her face before kicking her. Police said she was treated at hospital for light facial injuries.
The two men were described as being in their 20s, about 170 cms tall and wearing jeans.
Police said they believe the two men may be the same pair wanted for a similar robbery in the same area on Sept 25.

Safety Japan? I feel sorry for the girl, but it just shows that Japan is not much different to the rest of the world and if you put yourself in the position to become a victim you will become one. These two 'tough guys' are targeting young women cos they know they will not fight back. Hope the flops catch them before they seriously injure or kill someone for a few bob.

Japan is relatively safe, especially compared to the US but I still felt the need to gift some pocket sized pepper spray to my old host families daughter when she got accepted into a University. Better safe than sorry. If only they could get a better description of the "men" involved. (though they're hardly men in my opinion)
