Two minors arrested for kidnapping acquaintance

Police in Hadano, Kanagawa Prefecture, have arrested an 18-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl on suspicion of kidnapping a male acquaintance and confining him in the trunk of a car.

According to police, the boy is currently unemployed and the girl is a high school student. Both are residents of Hadano. Fuji TV quoted police as saying the two allegedly kidnapped their 18-year-old acquaintance on Monday at 3 p.m. at a commercial complex, where they forced him to get into the car trunk, and then they drove off.

An eyewitness who saw the scene unfold placed an emergency call to police. A police helicopter was mobilized to follow the fleeing vehicle. About an hour later, the suspects were pulled over by a police car and arrested. The victim sustained minor bruises to his face.

Police said the 18-year-old suspect told them he helped his acquaintance get some work, but since he didn’t take his job seriously, some trouble ensued between them.

Pretty severe treatment to try and adjust someone's attitude.... I'm wondering where they were taking him to?

I'm glad I'm glad the police caught them before something worse happened to the poor fellow

18 year old criminals are boys in my book

and that's the attitude that let's people under 20 commit crimes then only getting a slap on the wrist.

18 year old criminals are not boys.

They aren't mature, but they are as large as men, and are nearly fully developed.

If they were minors, then everyone under 25 or so should be given half sentences or never sent to jail, but reformary instead.

I'm just glad to see they caught them. And kudos to the cops for some good work too.

So an unemployed 18 year old gets another 18 year old a job and he is supposedly not taking the job seriously.  That tells me that the suspect is in to more than what is being told and was probably up to no good.  Why get someone else a job and you have none?  There is more to this story.

One hour to catch them, using police cars and a helicopter? With a description of the car?
