Two teens held for beating younger boy to death in Sakai

Let's see some teeth in the pursuit of justice in this case. Probably not, minors.

I hope they do time of some sort, despite being minors. Vicious b'stards aren't decent enough people to be allowed to move among society at this point.

I hope they're charged with murder and not on a charge of (bodily) injury resulting in death.

So...yet another display of violence in Osaka. What seems to be the issue here? Seems people are frustrated and have no fear of the law or retribution. Leave these "teens" alone with the parents of the victim for an hour and Ill guarantee they'll never do this again.

What did he say? Leave me alone...or...leave me alone you vocational school losers. I'm starting to feel that some Japanese people suffer from narcissistic personality disorder. Coupled with the cultural belief that you must respect your elders will easily lead to bullying and violence. Respect your elders sure, but f..k this BS about respecting your seniors.

Note that the killers went to vocational high school, but it seems that this kid went to a different (probably academic) high school.

The tragedy here is that even if these killers get 10 years in prison (unlikely... even 3 years in juvenile would be a stretch) they'll still get to reproduce and pass on their stunted IQs and sociopathic tendencies, whereas this brighter boy is dead forever and will never get to have kids and improve society.

So let's be fair, why not just castrate them? It'll reduce their testosterone levels and make society safer from them, and also balance the books in terms of two idiotic sociopaths never reproducing.

Doctors believe the cause of death to have been a subarachnoid hemorrhage.

What they don't know? Didn't they do a CAT scan or MRI? You would think the injury was more like a subdural hematoma probably from being kicked in the head. As for the 2 perps, they obviously don't deserve respect and should be tried for murder.

The dead kid may have said something like "I got into a good senior high and will go to college. You guys are now just in vocational school and you''re going to be car mechanics for the rest your life. Ha Ha!"

This kind of news should and the consequences it brings for everyone, including the victims and their family, friends, etc, should be addressed at every school in an assembly of some sort.

If the case goes to district court, the individual(s) will be tried as adults regardless of age. If it goes to family court you'll be charged as a minor.　In post war Japan, 29 minors received death sentences of which 19 were executed. ( They wait till you turn at least 20 before the actual execution).

RIP young Shota. May justice come down hard upon the boys who murdered you!.

But of course murder isn't 'disrespectful' to the victim at all. As usual, a complete fail in terms of logic. The saddest part, young Shota's death aside, is that these guys will not face serious criminal punishment for their actions and will never learn. I hope, at the very least, they are sent off to reformatories and are severely 'disrespected'.

It wasn't enough to teach poor Shota a lesson on morlas for being disrespectful (define disrespect in this case), no!!! These disgraceful losers had to intentionally (beating his head till he bleed internally) murder him. Rip poor Shota!! My deepest condolences to his family.

So once again the victim's name is released but not those who were arrested?

Japan, drop the age to 16 to be tried as adults. They'll get a slap on the wrists while a family suffers over the murder of their son.

Being disrespectful? This reeks, and I'm sure there is more to the story than the media is letting out. These two "kids" viciously beat someone to death. Their rights should be second to that of the victim and the safety of those around them (specifically others in the school). This sounds like it could be "gang"-related. I hope they do some actual investigating and get to the bottom of this, and all those involve realize their actions have real consequences.

The two bullies have now ruined their lives and will have to live this with the rest of their life, shameful and such a waste on both sides... no one wins here!!!

"Being disrespectful" is just a euphemism. What they really mean is that the younger boy refused to be shaken down by these two apprentice gurentai, perfecting the techniques they were surely going to bring to a life of crime.

To be fair, Bodily Injury resulting in death is accurate. According to the article, the victim wasn't even unconscious when the punks were finished - he fell unconscious later and then bit the dust. So it is reasonable to believe that the punks were really intending only to "rough" the nerd around a little. Not something to be let off lightly to be sure. A prison sentence is certainly appropriate, but a murder charge is belittling a greater crime - this is probably not even a manslaughter where "bodily injury resulting in death" is a division.

Let these 2 punks ROT in hell!!

I would give them each 20-30 years hard labour. They will probably just have some counciling for a few years and then get an identity change like "Sagakibara" from Kobe who now lives around Tokyo.

The sooner Japan and Korea get rid of this antiquated, artificial cultural demand for respect, the better. Respect should be earned, not expected simply because you are older. So sad for the teen and his family; hope the authorities deal appropriately with the thugs who inflicted this violence.

Blaming video games always seems lame. We have had a rash of this sensless beatings byt younger guys in my village here in the States. These guys are too young. This is terrible!
