Two women arrested for burying body under house

Police on Saturday arrested two women for unauthorized disposal of a corpse after a body was found buried under the floor of their home in Kitakyushu.

The women, who have been named as 59-year-old Kumiko Yoshimura and her daughter Maiko Hayashi, 35, were arrested for allegedly burying the body under their house in late September, Fuji TV reported.

Police say that although the body has not yet been identified, they believe it may be that of Yoshimura's daughter-in-law, whose current whereabouts is unknown. An investigation into the cause of death is currently underway.

Sounds like a story line for a Murakami book.

This piece of news can be improved by providing some more details. Lots of question marks in my mind after reading it. e.g. no of family members living in the house, how was body found ...

I guess Kumiko Yoshimura's daughter-in-law's current whereabouts is now known.

Probably the smell of the decomposing corpse bothered the neighbors enough for them to call the police?

Yes, just add a sheep and a well.

Many pieces missing from this puzzlingly macabre tale. Not ready for publication.

Kitakyushu, the Saitama of the south---and then some.

They confirmed that's... was the daughter-in-law, and the corpse is full of bruises, so either a murder or some really weird accident. Many people don't like their mother-in-law, and well, it's a good instinct maybe. Beware of yours.

@Martyman, no from I get, that was "well done" in concrete but the police was looking for the missing woman and maybe after hearing of the case in Kansai, they got the idea to check the family cellar...

@Cos,sounds like a second part of the story coming soon!

I am sorry to read this, it is a sad story. I suggest it might be nice to be more respectful in posts, even tho the article is a bit mysterious, we are guests here and should be respectful to our hosts i believe. And to the deceased.
