It was a terrible press conference, just like a propaganda show. Kato kept talking (of nonsense) despite warnings while Q-A sessions involving the audience were cut short.

I guess this is regrettable, but this cult must start operating in a much more transparent manner. There are supposedly around 600,000 members in Japan, and they should be honest enough to reveal themselves and not be cowards. Or else the media must expose them.

You can't fight communism from the 2,000 to 7,000 km away and in the safety of a full democracy, if the UC really want to be on top of things and oppose communism then they should be N Korea, China, and Russia on the frontlines helping those who are struggling for Democracy.

I lost a childhood friend to the Unification Church. He was brainwashed and gave eeverything he had to them. And that they are a South Korean cult religion is not the relevant issue. They are all over the world. The UC own tremendous property and assets in the United States.

Renounce their membership and file a lawsuit.

There are plenty of other religions/cults which belong in the dustbin. Pretty much all of them in fact.

One of the fundamental problems with this is that society still pays undue respect to religions/cults or lower their voices or cover their mouths when taking about them.

Hopefully this will make people less tolerant of religions/cults getting their claws into politics.

Cults feed on weak minds with no critical thinking skills and like to do what they are told. Go figure why they thrive here! Have one across the road from my house. Well, if you're into the business of hurting people, threatening their livelihood, destroying families and driving people to social alienation, financial collapse and possibly suicide, you have to expect some kind of "backlash" from said people, their families, friends or acquaintances.

This can be said of all organized religions to some degree. Think of the child molestation issue recently in many churches. Granted the Moonies are out there in terms of their criminal activity. The fact is if you know the history of the Moonie Church it is simply a business hiding behind a religious facade. The goal of the church originally was world dominance. The list of crimes committed by the Church in that pursuit all over the world are innumerable now. But again take a look at any major church and you find similar horrible examples.

If and when the UC starts paying back the funds it syphoned out of Japan seniors, the weak and the helpless only then the general public may start backing off, until then the UC has no grounds to stand on.

The Moonie operation is an extortion racket parading as a church. The founder of the church made that clear from the beginning of the organization being founded. That is not propaganda, that is fact. Why? it has done nothing illegal. Does not ask for unlimited donations. Has transparent audited accounts. Donations are limited to individuals max ¥1.5 million per year. Funding is mostly from publications and money received from the government.
