Police in Tokyo said Saturday they have arrested a 20-year-old male university student on suspicion of killing a 19-year-old Thai woman in a hotel in December.

According to police, the suspect, Naoki Yosomiya, a student at Showa University, beat the woman and then jumped out of the window of the 5th-floor hotel room and was found unconscious on the sidewalk below the hotel which is near JR Uguisudani Station. He has been in hospital since the incident, Sankei Shimbun reported. Upon his recovery this week, police arrested him.

The incident occurred on Dec 18. A hotel employee called police after hearing a man and woman arguing and a woman's scream coming from the room at around 8:30 p.m. The employee called police. When police knocked on the door, which was locked, a man inside called out to them to wait a minute. When police got into the room, the man had jumped from the window.

The woman was unconscious and had bruises all over her body, but she died the next day in hospital.

Police said Yosomiya, who lives in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, has admitted to assaulting the victim, who worked for a call girl establishment, but denied intending to kill her.

Pay for sex then beat the poor woman to death. The idea of paying for sex is you can get your selfish needs without using power, violence and rape. Hope his pain lasts longer than that of the victims family.

Heinous crime! Sadly, odds are he will not receive anywhere near commensurate punishment. The usual "I was drunk" defense will get him off way too easy.

So, he beat a Thai prostitute to death. This loser may very well recover from his injuries, but his long-term prognosis is not good. I’m quite sure her handlers will be waiting for him to seek a little street retribution.

The usual "I was drunk" defense will get him off way too easy.

People regularly claim that on JT, but then no one has ever actually been able to produce a case where stating that they were drunk got the defendant a reduced punishment.

Visa? No doubt a case of school’s out early and the lesson today is how to die.

I am sure, of course, that the call girl establishment will get into no trouble over this.
