No wonder, Nissan products are boycotted, share prices down soon all over the world. Nissan had nothing but a bunch of ill educated japanese that works hard on such low level issue. Boy, no wonder the likes of saikawa exists, they cannot think of anything but such silly issues. very funny for Nissan. A bunch of living parasites. Does anyone still hold any thing nissan ???.

Japanese people not only feel they're justified being even more suspicious of gaijin but also made them just stick their fingers in their ears over any criticism of their country.
Not obvious to me how gaijin criticizing Japan will be any more effective than Japanese criticizing the US.
Do you think my just stated Japanese criticism will be listened to by anyone in the US even though I wrote it in English rather than Japanese?

I hope you change your mind.
The Ghosn debacle is just that, a debacle. As for any bigotry towards gaijin, maybe it's just suspicion of the elite getting away with it, as they always do. That's a universal thing.

Let's see the evidence !
Hiding all the time facts is no good. Even Goshn's lawyers are now criticizing the system.
What is so strange is that no Japanese group is standing up and asking for a better system ? As if it were perfect.
In my country you would have pros and cons having debates on TV, which is the basis for rights development.

10pm. Anybody know yet where we can see this press conference live??

It is said that attack is the best form of defence.

@WilliB - To answer your question....absolutely not...

Tokyo -Engr:
If he had told them, they would be accomplices and in jail now themselves. Are you seriously suggesting he would or should have done that??
MSR Japan
The next foreigner to be arrested is going to get the full wraith of the prosecutors, you can feel that boiling up cant you.
Would hate to be that person that is going to be made an example of and be the one who takes the frustration and anger i bet they must have of foreigners at the moment.

Does anyone know how much to collect on the bounty if Ghosn is brought back to Japan.

Roll on 10 pm this is going to be so amusing to see the reaction? Probably multible hangings homeless people jailed for a 10 yen theft you know standard response from the government. Wait a minute how about those abductees, got to be worth a try.
papigiulio
This! Saikawa is equally guilty but he just bows and gets off the hook? It all stinks.

Considering what Ghosn did and the fact he did not tell his defense team (which could be seen as betrayal or lack of trust) this speaks volumes.
Based on all I have read over the past year from various sources it appears Ghosn engaged in unethical behavior. I am not sure if he committed a crime and it is quite obvious the prosecutor and Nissan are in bed together to hang him out to dry. Additionally the insinuation (or statement) that his trial would be delayed until 2021 is ridiculous.
From what I know of Ghosn and what I have heard I probably would not like him however I find myself now rooting for him; not because I believe he is innocent (I do not know if he is or not) but because it is quite obvious he is being singled out as a foreigner and he has endured the absurd interrogation techniques in Japan.
As a long term resident who likes Japan and who will stay here I am hoping that light can be shed on the "justice" system here in Japan and some positive change may come out of this (although I fear it will go the opposite direction)

Can't wait for Ghosn's press conference, to expose Nissan corporation for the world to see.
MSR Japan
Every book keeper accountant officer of that compnay needs to be dragged into the police station for questioning, held with out bail and the truth found out, coz its a filthy lying bunch.
Ghosn couldnt fiddle the books by himself.
Saikawa knew what was going on and should have been in jail with ghosn.
The cops know that, the PM knows that, The world Knows that.
Yubaru
The oil is warming up for the popcorn tonight!
Do the hustle
I think everybody was aware of this from the outset. Now, Nissan has had one year to clear out any evidence of wrongdoing and to fiddle their books to put Ghosn on the hit list.
