The authorities will probably find a way to arrest him for this tweet, be it made by his lawyer or a representative or not, as a violation of his release conditions.

The prosecutors were concerned that he would influence others to corroborate with his version, if he is allowed to tweet then pretty much all involved will be informed of his defence strategies and intricacies. It's unthinkable that bail conditions was not meant to ban internet use altogether.

My guess is they're desperately (or should be if they're not intimidated by the Razor) trying to clarify with the judge the bail conditions.

Anything to prevent the corruption that is the J(ustice) system from being exposed in a way that cannot be doubted.

he has been being polite and did not attack much back to nissan, however, they still want

to push him to the corner like there is no limit to destroy a person. nissan, renault - the betrayers

should get part of the bitterness.

His bail condition say no internet use, I wonder if it's a fake account, else he breached bail condition and will be rearrested.

I’d like to read those conditions as it was only reported that by the media

Per Hironaka, Internet use is limited to use at the office of the defense attorneys and so his understanding is that it’s not a problem for Ghosn to connect to the Net there.

One of the prosecutors expressed a stricter interpretation of the bail conditions to be no Internet use per se, “if it’s really Ghosn using the internet then he’s out.”

I doubt it would be the latter case, and the judge announces “Back in cell, you’re out” (no pun intended.) It’s too big of a case for Hironaka to screw up on this.

This point alone reveals a bit of the competency of the two sides.

弘中氏によると、保釈条件でパソコンの使用は弁護人の事務所に限定されている。事務所でネットに接続するのは問題ないという認識だ。一方、検察幹部の一人は「本人がネットを使っていたらアウトでは」との厳しい見方を示した。

In Ghon's case it has more to do with someone creating jobs, and at the same time benefiting by lining his pockets "legally". What is at question, is the "Legality" of the way he did so.

For the less, educated here, who like to give "Negative" ratings... this also impacts you.

Do you want an "person" leading your company who creams profits off for himself at your expense, or do you want one who does so, but gives you some benefits (albeit small).

The 3rd option of equal participation in Company profits does not exist.

The only fair trail will be that of non-concerned individuals who will be able to judge the facts impartially. And that means... no French, no Japanese, no Brazilian, participants in the Jury. The impact of the outcome however, will be rather severe across all Industries for Senior management positions, so this case is somewhat interesting from the "99%" perspective...

All this mess is simply because paying Ghosn at his worldwide market value was not acceptable in Japan and France. Then all kinds of arrangements agreed or not had to happen to keep him at the helm.

Making big money might look immoral but not illegal.

There is just another article about Uniqlo increasing wage by 10%. Before that Uniqlo has fixed a 10 years contract with tennis player Federer for 300 millions USD....!

Who is right, who is wrong?

Well. I guess, some Japanese people will be anti-Ghosn hence the Negative votes here. He hasnt a chance here in local courts has he ?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

He will be judged on how Nissan & Renault performs without him at the helm.

Perhaps having a single Captain at the Helm will in hindsight be better than a board of "decision makers" who Historically could never do anything right.

I thought that in Japanese law a defendant cannot be questioned about a case while a separate case is on-going.

Perhaps a better translation would be "moving toward" re-arresting Ghosn? It certainly sounds like there's a high chance that they are going to do it.

To follow up for other posts, Japanese language news sources are reporting that the prosecutors are considering to arrest Ghosn again, apparently for the Oman-related charges that are listed in this article. (Perhaps someone more skilled than me can make a better translation, if I'm missing some nuance.)

If he's got anything to say, he'd better say it fast.

Lindsay: "Wow! Is Japan ready for the truth?"

Nope. That's why it will not be allowed. Same as he was denied bail twice, he will not be allowed to speak until it's more favorable and what they've written.

Wow! Is Japan ready for the truth? That is the real question. I would not be at all surprised if he names and shames many of the Japanese executives who were part of this coup. However, I doubt if any of them will end up in prison for their wrong doings.

It is possible that Ghosn might be found not guilty on some legal technicality at the end, but I can never have any sympathy for this guy.  Being a little bit greedy might be okay by most people. In fact it is perhaps within the range of decency.  But being extremely greedy like he's been is  just as bad as a crime.

Ghosn is being now investigated in France

http://www.lefigaro.fr/societes/renault-saisit-la-justice-de-nouveaux-soupcons-concernant-carlos-ghosn-20190401

if he doesn't make enough time in Japan, France is waiting for him

was wondering about Internet use, and the tweet. Apparently he has been arrested again. Last thing anybody wants is the accused actually vocalising there side of the story.

Of the 1% found not guilty prosecutors don't want them actually talking. It's ok after 30 years of prison time and suffering dementure to be found not guilty. But not so soon in this case. The legal system is digging itself deeper into a hole that it can't get out of, they should be thanking Nissan and the government for making them look ridiculous in the global community.

Comments comments from one side of the Court are never truths

No . You're getting ready to tell your excuse.

Nissan is not going to like this news conference.

the prosecution wins 99% of the time

I'm betting for a long time in jail for Ghosn, and it will be well deserved

LETS GET READY TO RUUUMBLE----!!! WWF Smack Down On Saikawa and Nissan

This is hilarious. If the prosecutors in this country were competent, they wouldn't rely almost exclusively on confessions and wouldn't be in this position.

What a complete and utter joke the "justice" system is here.

5 ( +13 / -8 )

My guess is they'll find some other charge to lock him up for so that he can't make that date, and then won't let him out, making up other charges to justify keeping him in, until he does their bidding.

0 ( +7 / -7 )

They won't allow it. And/Or they'll cut a deal so that he won't release the information that will put responsibility on others, because there's no way he did this alone.

3 ( +10 / -7 )

Guess the prosecution will be a flustered tonight. Really should have thought about this before doing Nissans bidding. Now they have to find actuall criminal actions that alone presents problems as Japanese laws are full of loopholes. Might be dubious but not actually illegal as the Nissan accounts will claim and the outside auditors will claim too.

oh, oh my what a mess it is. Now a government arm is at a loss.

5 ( +14 / -9 )

Very interesting turn of events. I hope that he will be able take down the farce that is called the justice system. If only for them to change that law that they can keep people imprisoned without evidence. Either way, get the popcorn ready.
