4 robbery suspects may be sent from Philippines to Japan next week

The Philippines is seeking the dismissal of local criminal charges against some of the four men.

and what exactly are these local charges? I heard child abuse and domestic violence but is there more than this. I really want them to serve time in Philippines before coming to Japan and getting light sentences.

Personally I don't think they will get off lightly, some here might think other wise but they will not see another day out side of prison!

Why did they run to the Philippines? With so much money, would it not have been better to run to a country without an extradition treaty with Japan?

Extradition treaties exist for this very reason & it’s nice to see that Japan & the Philippines have one and only right that the 4 Japanese citizens/criminals are returned to Japan for Punishment.

I applaud the Japanese Police, the Philippine Justice Ministry, and also the respective prosecutorial offices in their efforts to advance proceedings in this case so quickly...the wheels of justice are turning...!

Fine, if they get extradited to Japan and serve time, can the Philippines request extradition so they can be prosecuted for crimes committed in Philippines?

Or, is the extradition meant so they will not be prosecuted abroad, thus preventing a bad image?

Leave the one's who are suspects in the Philippines there for trial, and any punishment. Japanese law does not take precedence over Philippine law, while they are there.

There is zero need to try them as a group here.

Why bring them to japan?? they will get a suspended sentence then get out of jail and terrorize seniors and women!!? leave them in the philippine to face the charges and let them ROT over there

If they are Japanese nationals and they committed the crimes in Japan they should be held fully responsible in japan. They broke Japans laws so they should be tried also under Japanese law. These are career criminals and the ONLY WAY they continued stealing, robbing and killing was committing a crime and running to a neighboring country to enjoy the fruits of their ill labor. This explains why they were hard to find they just terrorized robbed and ran!!! At the expense of those accused of breaking the law in the Philippines and getting away with it. They are only accused to have committed a crime in Japan, so it's fine with you that the people who may have been their victims in the Philippines get no justice.

Japanese justice only works when hostages are taken. When out of Japanese jurisdiction, they cannot hold these criminals hostage to retrieve any money for the victims.
