What do these people think their kids will do when they are in prison? So dumb and sad. I really hope Meth doesn't become a problem in Japan like it is in the US. That stuff turns people into strange looking creatures who will steal anything to feed their habit. Before and after photos shows the affect it has over time. These are grim photos: https://www.rehabs.com/explore/meth-before-and-after-drugs/infographic.php#.Wt5gxS2mO34

I thought only foreigners committed drug related crimes.

What an idiot admitting to using his children as cover. Rule #1 when interacting with police: Shut up. Given the heavy reliance on confessions in Japan, not saying a thing will be far more effective than talking.

You're just freaking stupid if you think you can waltz onto a plane with 30 kg of Meth. Dumb and dumber.

Amphetamine was first made in 1887 in Germany and methamphetamine, more potent and easy to make, was developed in Japan in 1919. The crystalline powder was soluble in water, making it a perfect candidate for injection. Methamphetamine went into wide use during World War II, when both sides used it to keep troops awake.

Show me where I asserted anything. You are the one who made the assertion, and now are unable to back it up. So now, as we all know you are so fond of doing, you are yet again putting words in my mouth and then acting as if I'm the one who said them, trying to distract the JT readers from your mistake

Again, show me where I asserted that this is the first time they walked onto a plane with 30 kgs of meth. I merely said, or asserted if you will, that they were stupid for doing it. No where did I say or imply that they hadn't done anything like this before. So you can stop deliberately twisting my words so you can try to show JTs readers how smart you are, it's not working

Multiple trips to a third world country in a short amount of time, seems like that would be a red flag to the immigration staff at the airport

They're just lucky Japan doesn't have the death penalty for drug smuggling

@Mirai Hayashi - Actually, the J-Justice system will probably very lenient on them because they have children.

This statement is half right. The J-justice system will 'probably' go light on them, but not because of their children. They made a full confession and the cops will no doubt track down the king-pin from their confession. This will fall under the new 'plea bargaining' law. However, they have admitted to multiple smuggling trips, which is going to weigh heavily against them.

@Haruka - Looks like foster care for the little ones.

You wouldn't call people who use their kids as cover to smuggle drugs internationally good parents, would you? Now, the teenage boys have their life turned upside down due to their idiot parents greed and stupidity. It's always the kids who get hurt the most.

@ Strange - the story says nothing about how much they were carrying the other times. So as far as the information provided is concerned, this is the first time they waltzed onto a plane with 30 kilos of Meth. Your assertion that they have currently have done this before is not supported by the information.

Sounds like a plot for a movie.

I've seen quite a few of those shows like this situation. It always goes like that! The first few times went well, but at some point they get caught while getting ballsy and greedy by pushing their luck to carry more just so they can get a bigger payout! Pride and greed cometh before the fall in this case.

Tommy

I disagree. In such drug cases in Japan, showing contrition, saying how stupid it was and bowing deeply will usually result in a lighter sentence.

Looks like foster care for the little ones.

I think people have a right to choose drugs if they are so stupid, but meth? It is the devil. Good point is it is so so so expensive in japan. Japan has cheap alcohol, it is better than going to the dark side.

All of there money should be confiscated ( inc sale of there house and belongings) from there previous drug trips, the money that confiscated should go in to the drug rehabilitation program to help people to come off drugs, as for these two jokers, I would like to see them tied to a wooden post in a court yard..... but sadly this won't be the case and they will get a hefty prison sentence, (poor kids)

What do these people think their kids will do when they are in prison?

Actually, the J-Justice system will probably very lenient on them because they have children. The mother might even get a suspended sentence, so she can take care of the two kids.

Meth? Too bad they werent caught in Singapore or Malaysia...

Meth smugglers deserve capital punishment, sorry for the kids growing with such shame

You're just freaking stupid if you think you can waltz onto a plane with 30 kg of Meth.

Looks like they did just that a few times.

Was the meth blue?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

show me where I asserted that this is the first time they walked onto a plane with 30 kgs of meth.

I just showed you in my last post. It was in your post from 11:39 am:

this is the first time they waltzed onto a plane with 30 kilos of Meth.

No where did I say or imply that they hadn't done anything like this before.

See the quote above.

So you can stop deliberately twisting my words

I copy/pasted your words directly from your post. They are verbatim.

Readers, please focus your comments on the story at not at each other.

as far as the information provided is concerned, this is the first time they waltzed onto a plane with 30 kilos of Meth.

No it's not - as you have clearly stated:

the story says nothing about how much they were carrying the other times.

And therefore your assertion that they have not done this before is also not supported by the information.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Show me where I asserted anything.

Sure:

You're just freaking stupid if you think you can waltz onto a plane with 30 kg of Meth.

How do you know that they didn't already do it previously, considering they have admitted making multiple trips? You also asserted this:

this is the first time they waltzed onto a plane with 30 kilos of Meth.

You are saying this:

You are the one who made the assertion, and now are unable to back it up.

You're right. Just as you're not able to back up your assertion that this is the first time they've 'waltzed' onto a plane with 30kg of meth.

you are yet again putting words in my mouth

No I'm not. I quote your own words in writing my replies. That's using the words you put in your mouth yourself.

You wouldn't call people who use their kids as cover to smuggle drugs internationally good parents, would you?

I wouldn't call them bad parents based on that one thing.
