The 48-year-old lawmaker, who left the ruling Liberal Democratic Party shortly before his arrest in December, said the 2 million yen that he received on Sept. 1, 2017 was a speaking fee and that he "never considered it a bribe."

This guy is full of himself! He isnt THAT famous, nor all that powerful in the LDP either! No way in hell anyone is going to pay him 2 million yen to listen to him talk!

@Yubaru, agreed but he is connected:

Tsukasa Akimoto (秋元 司, Akimoto Tsukasa, born October 23, 1971) is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, a member of the House of Councillors in the Diet (national legislature). A native of Adachi, Tokyo and graduate of Daito Bunka University, he was elected for the first time in 2004.

Akimoto is affiliated to the openly revisionist lobby Nippon Kaigi.[1]

I even believe him when he says he did not consider that as a bribe.

That is the real problem...

agreed but he is connected:

All the members of the Diet are connected some way or some how, they dont get there without it.

He's nothing special, and neither is Nippon Kaigi!
