Shows you what media + government propaganda can do. Nutcases come out of the woodwork once you continuously portray people as evil.
virusrex
Much more easier when the people are actually evil, which do not apply to this victim. And when the government gives free reign to the nutcases to be armed as heavily as they want (which again fortunately is not the case here either).
Unfortunately this is a consequence of governments making foreigners, immigrants the scapegoat for any and all problems, manipulating people to hate and attack with false accusations in order to distract them from the ones that actually make their lives more difficult by removing freedoms.

If people are subjected to non-stop propaganda, a large part of them simply swallows that instead of doing some background reading and deciding for themselves if the victim is evil. Try again?
It is not the case here or anywhere else, so what is this supposed to mean?
Japanese in China are the victims of selective government propaganda, directed at them, and not at "immigrants". Are you perhaps defending this sort of hate rethoric?
Fighto!
Despicable. Attacking a child just on his way to school, purely out of hatred. It seems so many in China are still full of hate toward Japanese for no reason other than the CCP tells them they should be.
I hope the innocent kid recovers soon. Still hard to fathom why Japanese adults would endanger children by taking them to China.

"Student on his way to Japanese school in China attacked by man."
This is sad, attacking innocent kid regardless of any reasons is unfortunate and hard to forgive.

If China were really that unsafe for Japanese then there would be many fewer Japanese living and working there.
The fact is that thousands of Japanese do their daily activities, day in, day out without incident.
Allowing children to walk around without adult supervision is something that has to be addressed in light of recent incidents in China though.

This is the results of the CCP propaganda machine, vilifying people from countries that the CCP has political tensions with.
China media tells their people all day long that foreigners are the source of their problems and they believe it. Trump is doing the same thing in the US, where foreigners are attacked daily for just being not Caucasian.

Like believing immigrants are eating pets, people without actual literacy will simply believe, even in cases where the victim is just a scapegoat, not trying again, that is the whole point
It is the case in countries where members of the government resist controlling much more lethal weapons, fortunately China is much more responsible than those retrograde countries that arm their nutcases and this criminal only used a less lethal weapon that let the victim survive.
On the opposite selective government propaganda pretending people from foreign countries (Japan, Venezuela, Haiti, etc.) are doing nefarious things when that is in fact a lie.

As with the Yasakuni incident, I am not excusing this disgusting, horrendous act. This is horrible news. But.....but, it again shows just how strong the brainwashing is in China...and that they are also victims of this brainwashing....and sadly now a young Japanese person has become a victim of the same brainwashing.

Modern Japanese people haven’t done anything wrong this is true, but the responsibility goes partially to the central government never truly apologizing and teach in textbooks about such events.

Seriously?
You should read some history then.

It’s not the government propaganda which is easily pointed at but rather the Chinese who keep making available essays on war and photos of the IJA beheading Chinese or bayoneting babies. I am sure most Chinese have seen those photos.
They do no good and cause people to go out and target innocent Japanese. They should be censored.

Japan has apologized to China numerous times.
"1972 Joint Communique
Prime Minister Kakuei Tanaka issued a joint statement with the People's Republic of China expressing remorse for the damage caused to the Chinese people and reaffirming Japan's intention to normalize relations. "
"Murayama Statement
Japan expressed feelings of remorse and apology on the 50th anniversary of the end of the war. "
"Koizumi Statement
Japan expressed feelings of remorse and apology on the 60th anniversary of the end of the war. "
"Prime Minister's Statement
In 2015, the Prime Minister issued a statement upholding the feelings of remorse and apology expressed by previous Cabinets

It is modern Chinese propaganda and not against Japanese but all Asian neighboring countries. Chinese government has introduced self-entitlement over the seas and other's land including now Russia's, but no sympathy there with Putin's buddy, buddy with the Chinese leader.

The boy is 10-years old, this should have been included for context

Yes I'm sure the attacker had just finished his research study on Japanese textbooks.

I deplore this kind of crazy attack, this is a serious crime and that perpetrator must be indicted. I hope the victim child get well and recover soon.

As usual there's a lot of jumping to conclusions and assumptions about how Chinese feel about Japanese. Given that there are 1.4 billion + Chinese, I suppose that lumping them together is the easiest way for some people to talk about them, despite how ridiculous that is. Unless I'm missing something though, there's nothing in the article stating that this child was attacked because he was Japanese. Just like there's nothing in the article, right below it, about the 19-year old in Miyagi stabbing his mother because she was Japanese. Maybe the man did stab the boy because he's Japanese. Maybe the man stabbed the boy because he's got mental health issues. Maybe the man stabbed the boy because he wanted to know what it felt like to stab someone. Maybe the man stabbed the boy for all of or none of those reasons. Either way, maybe give it a minute before all the supposition.

I don’t think I’ll be visiting China any time soon. It sounds more and more like a Third World country.

China has long had a problem with school attacks. Seems some men in China want to stab children. Every week, there's another stabbing at a school in China. The CCP suppresses this type of news, since it makes Chinese people mad. Still, about 470 kids have been injured (or killed) in China from these attacks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_attacks_in_China
This might be just another man who wanted to stab children or it could be a Chinese man who wanted to carry out anti-Japanese actions. Hard to tell. There is so much anti-Japanese propaganda in China that nobody should be surprise when things like this happen.
Sounds like "thoughts and prayers" to me. Nothing will change. Beijing hasn't done anything to prevent school attacks by adults. That is clear.
The school might hire a guard for the front gate as kids arrive and leave for the day, if they don't have one already. Around here, they are usually parents who volunteer as "crossing guards" to help kids get onto campus from the street.
