Looks like the yakuza are still as ambitious as ever.

Looking forward to NBC’s or HBO’s “reality-based” spinoff series: Law & Order: Tokyo Vice.

@snowymountainhell, There is already a show Tokyo Vice on HBO Max. Concerning Yakuza and the Police relation in the 90's.

That was kind of the point @Hiro 8:08am. - Look up keywords: “spinoff”, “reality-based”, “Law & Order:” to understand the context of the quip/sarcasm. - Best to you, mate. -

Well done, international law enforcement agencies!

“Court papers describe the yakuza as an “international criminal network, which spans Japan, Thailand, Burma, Sri Lanka and the U.S.”-

Can the US bill the yakuza for the cost of locking them up?

Mixed feelings about this. According to another news source the weapons were destined for those fighting against the military junta in Myanmar. I wish the DEA would go after the junta members too.

An interesting story

Especially as Ukraine has been arming Tatmadaw for years now:

Tatmadaw draw their inspiration and roots from Japan, and are supported by China and Russia. Perhaps Russia was jealous and wanted to take over Ukrainian arms sales? It’s a murky world indeed when you look behind the scenes of the arms trade, whether ‘legal’ or illegal.

As Asians, if they're headed to CDC, prison politics dictate they'll automatically be aligned with the Blacks, Norteños, and Pacific Islanders. On the opposite side of the yard / chow hall will be Whites and Sureños. California State Penitentiaries are all about racial politics and inmate-driven segregation and whether they like it or not, they'll be expected to put in work for their gang if a riot kicks off or other issues arise. And if they don't, they'll quickly be "removed."

Thank god they are charging them there and not here. Here they would receive a heroes welcome and a party with the PM.
