Police on Friday arrested the wife of a professional magician who was murdered in Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture, on March 31. Yasuko Uwano, 53, was arrested for allegedly killing her husband Tsutomu, 52, by hitting his head with a heavy object around noon on March 31. Police say she apparently battered herself in a suicide bid.

The two were found by a relative. Yasuko was taken to hospital, suffering head injuries. Police said she has admitted hitting her husband but denied intent to kill.

She'll need all the magical tricks up her sleeve to escape jail.

Perhaps she was practicing Black Magic.

oh dear... just wait for the list of magic related puns... May I start? He should have pre-emptied her and sawn her in half... He should have used his disappearing act the moment she started...there`s gotta be more.

"she apparently battered herself in a suicide bid"

This is really sad.

She could have said "He told me to do it. At first I refused, but he assured me it was a new magic trick, and that he would be perfectly okay. I did as he asked, but he didn't do the trick correctly!"

End of story, she could then go home, have a nice cup of green tea and watch David Copperfield on the tube!

Her lawyer is gonna have to work some magic to get her off this charge...

This crime would be much easier to understand if he was a mime and not a magician.

She'd never be able to con jury members.

Apparently, when the emergency services arrived, they contacted HQ with the message "We 'ave a cadaver".

Sarge, Yes, it is. You'd know that if you had a sense of humour!

Desiderata - No, it's not. This is a sad story and humo(u)r has no place here. By making jokes, you disgrace yourself.

Wottock, He just hasn't figured it out yet. Once someone from fox explains it to him, he'll likely laugh.

I spent quite some time in this chap's bar when I lived in Kochi. He was extremely talented and had a twinkle in his eye for my ladyfriend. I wouldn't like to speculate on why this tragedy happened, but I would venture, having some knowledge of the man, that he would be the first to approve of people making a joke of sadness.

Man, there are so many ways she could have made this look like an accident...sawn in half, an unfortunate sword swallowing accident, drowned in the bathtub handcuffed and bound...

yeah, she might have got away with it but she couldn't make him disappear...
