Wife arrested for stabbing husband to death in Kumamoto

A 44-year-old woman and her friend were arrested on Monday for stabbing her 48-year-old husband to death in Ozu, Kumamoto Prefecture, police said Tuesday,

Rie Sakamoto, 44, and her friend Shoji Yamashiro, 49, were arrested for allegedly stabbing Kazufumi Sakamoto, 49, to death with a knife in his house around 4:20 a.m. on Tuesday.

According to police, the wife had told them she had found her husband dead. Police said the victim's parents and his three children were in the house at the time of incident. The victim lives alone in Tokyo to work and had returned back to Kumamoto on Sunday for the Obon holidays.
