Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found buried in a mountain forest of Sunagawa City, Hokkaido Prefecture, on Sunday morning. The body was found at around 10 a.m. after a man suspected of killing her told police where to look, Fuji TV reported.

According to police, the man, who is in his 20s, was arrested on Friday iwhile using the victim's cash card to withdraw 500,000 yen from her account at a convenience store ATM in Takikawa City.

Police questioned the man on where he obtained the cash card and he was quoted as saying he had “buried the body of a woman.” Two other men, who are related to the suspect, have also been arrested in the case, police said Monday.

The woman, who was in her 80s, was fully clothed and showed no visible signs of injury when her body was found, police said, adding they believe she is an elderly resident of Takikawa City, who was reported missing on May 20 by her family.

I would be floored if the reason for this senseless crime turned out to be "because I needed the money to repay my gambling debts!"

I hope this teaches the man in his 20s and two other men crime doesn't pay. RIP to the elderly woman.

This is a callous crime. I hope the right people are punished appropriately and taken off the street.
