Police in Eiheiji-cho, Fukui Prefecture, have arrested a 46-year-old woman on suspicion of killing her 13-year-old daughter by conspiring with her 45-year-old husband who then apparently hanged himself.

According to police, Yoko Nakagawa, who works for the Katsuyama City government, plotted with her husband Makoto to kill their daughter Maki by strangling her with a cord at their residence on Monday night.

At around 7:15 on Tuesday morning, Nakagawa contacted police and said her husband had killed their daughter. Police found Maki lying face down on the first floor of their home. Makoto was also found dead in a room on the second floor after hanging himself.

Police quoted Nakagawa as saying that she had intended on committing suicide with her husband after killing their daughter, but couldn’t go through with it.

The family lived in Kasuyama but also owned the house in Eiheiji-cho.

The TV and media in general in accordance with the government paint a rosy picture of Japan. They portray it as some kind of utopia.....highlighting its merits, like its safety, while sweeping anything unpleasant under the carpet. There is definitely a dark underbelly to Japan.

you mean the japanese gov't is forcing TV and media to only report good and "rosy" news about japan? if they were on cahoots with the gov't then you would NEVER read or see news like this. but as you can see on JT (and also TV) on a daily basis, murders do happen in japan (gasp!!). So what you are saying is just JBS (Japan Bashing Syndrome).

there is no dark underbelly in Japan. it's in plain sight for everyone to see if they care to look or research. it's not hard to read about murders in japan.

Japan definitely has by far the highest psychiatric care requirements per capita in the world. Maybe it's related to

This sounds Kik one of those things someone is repeating, but hasn’t actually checked for truth. Got anything to support this assertion?

Well, good thing she could not hang herself. Another example living in the cage, funded by people tax to make sure anyone next thinks twice whether they want to share her pitiful fate or whether they want to try to remain decent human beings.

One day there will be cameras everywhere. And then we will be the ones laughing.

Tragic. Is the rate of filicide higher in Japan per capita than other countries?

Maybe. But Japan definitely has by far the highest psychiatric care requirements per capita in the world. Maybe it's related to this.

Poor girl. I will pray for you.

99% who do this are unemployed, 99% are then convicted, and yes the safest city, most of these occurred behind shutters in the home, they hang on to dead bodies, they kill their parents, yet the streets are quite safe !

So sad. If the husband and wife are suicidal, OK, but why murder the 13 year old daughter??

plotted with her husband Makoto to kill their daughter

What kind of parents are these? A 13 year old girl. There nothing she could have done to deserve this.
