Police in Tokyo on Tuesday arrested a 26-year-old woman who works at a nail salon after she left a karaoke parlor without paying the bill and then kicked a 19-year-old employee who chased after her.

According to police, Yuki Imaizumi and a male friend had gone to the karaoke parlor near Nakameguro Station on Monday night, NTV reported. At around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Imaizumi's friend left first, without paying. As Imaizumi followed him out, an employee asked her to pay the 9,000 yen charge.

Imaizumi ignored him and walked away. When the employee chased her, she reportedly hit him in the face and kicked him in the groin, police said.

Police said Imaizumi has denied attacking the employee.

Sentence them to a few hours of listening to me sing, then they'll be truly sorry.

Wow, breaking news

Well in some ways it is good that this kind of things can make the news. In my home country, it wouldn't even make into the local newspaper, even in the crime section.

No mention who caught her and how they learned her name... If he chased her, she was harassed.

I have heard of pachinko parlors but what in the world is a karaoke parlor?

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

@yubaru, it is a broom closet with davenports and electrical melody transmitters. The nicer ones come with maracas, tambourines, and laminated menus. Be sure to read all price warnings so as not to get stuck with a ridiculous 9000 yen bilL. Is that a clear picture for the uninitiated?

hit him in the face and kicked him in the groin, police said.

ooooh...that is so wrong!

When I get invited by co workers for Karaoke I need to drink a lot and get drunk to listen to them sing or sing myself for that matter. But seriously not cool lady kicking a man in the junk just because you cant hold to your limits.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Wow, the nut cracker.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

saw her on the news last night. she was pretty hot, but she must be a bit of a nutcase for trying to do a sing and dash.

Imaizumi’s friend left first, without paying. As Imaizumi followed him out, an employee asked her to pay the 9,000 yen charge.

why chased the girl if she was out behind the man? why not chased the man instead?

Police said Imaizumi has denied attacking the employee.

weird... are they know each other? I mean the employee and the girl?

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Stupid as we all know who "runs" the karaoke parlors. Guess we can expect here to say she was drunk and does"nt remember a thing....

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Why has she been named alreaqdy if she has denied the charges?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Well, it's not really a disputes over the bill. She and her fella both tried to do a runner and they got caught. I hope they are both charged with not paying their bill. I have no doubt that, her male companion is just another low-life NEET that dumped the bill onto the girl. However, this little lady will have to learn to control herself.

Sounds like a real Clip Joint!

No good the guy she was with, unless she did the invite Now the bill has risen from 9,000 yen to as much as 50,000 yen. Just wonder how much the employee will have to pay as a percentage will be his fault according to the system in Japan.

Not really, if two people spend 2-3 hours in a booth and have a couple of drinks you can easily break 9000. Not sure where you're usually going, but electronic menus are generally the norm and they have cameras all over the places and generally outside too so they'll find runners.

Gotta love Japan - all to dodge a 9,000 yen bill, this woman's face is now all over the media as a criminal suspect. Was it really worth it?

6 ( +7 / -1 )

They really made an example out of her by featuring this story and her face all over the news yesterday, but I have to admit that this girl is very attractive. She could easily become a new talento on television.

@Magnus, you caught me--I almost never go out for karaoke, so most of my post was bullcrap. I also will avoid going to hostess clubs after hearing how they try to charge over 2 million yen for an hour of drinks for the whole staff--compared to that, karaoke is cheap.

Not that it matters, but she was quite the looker. I saw her photo in a Japanese article about the crime.

She hit him in the face, too, so hopefully if there were any marks they had the common sense to photograph them pretty quick. Not a whole lot they can do about proving she hoofed him between the legs, though she sounds like that kind of nutjob. In any case, how were they caught if someone had not seen the assault take place? Did they karaoke parlour call the police before the pursuit? Did they have the name? I notice she's not denying they tried to do a 'dine 'n' dash', so to speak, which means they can at least charge for that -- in which case I hope they charge to the full extent of the law.

Must be a dead day in Japan! This is actually reported news?

I Googled her name in Japanese to find pics.

Textbook case of that Hotness/Craziness scale's accuracy. Not all that glitters is gold.

Stresses out Ms self important has been hung out to dry. @ noble713 i did the same and found this video http://newsonjapan.com/html/newsdesk/article/113187.php I think this is why a lot of gaijins have trouble with J ladies as they chase these types of girls who are some of the most superficial and fickle creatures on the planet. Sure she is good for a roll in the hay but for a relationship i would touch these woman with urs. Lots of better option imo.

I thought we only had lunatics of this kind in the U.S. It's sad to see Japan coming apart at the seams also. From what I've seen of Japan, it's a beautiful place. To me, it's the closest thing to Utopia, full of color and music and magic. It's full of beautiful, talented, educated people. (Especially those Jrockers.)

Hot? You must be joking!

I have yet to see a more sullen-faced...

Anyway, after three weeks in the cooler, I'm sure she'll sing again.

Kind of funny. I wonder how she was asked to pay and if she was grabbed? Who wouldn't want to protect themselves. She sounds like a big baby though and should of at least told the 19 year old that her male friend owed the money not her.

When I go to Japan to visit and then live, I'm making sure I know the prices ahead of time and calculate how much it will cost to sing, how much I'm going to drink and eat. That way I have the exact change and I don't bring way too much money. I may bring an extra few yen in case something happens. Be smarter people please!

Japan often has various surcharges, and the bills end up being more than one expects. Don't count on your math skills, make sure you have much more than you think you need.
